[The face on the network now is not a happy one. This beaky-nosed older gentleman, with his expensive suit and tie and his lightly feathered hair, looks rather coolly displeased. The background is that of the outside of the ship, since he’s apparently found his way out, though he hasn't gone very far yet.]
I’m not sure just who thought it was a good idea to be kidnapping people? But I can assure you, whoever you are, it was a very. Bad. Idea. You have kidnapped entirely the wrong person.
[When he smiles, just one corner of his mouth turning up, it doesn’t look particularly cheerful. It looks a little threatening, actually.]
Whoever is behind this, I have much more important things to do than dealing with you, but believe me, dearie, I will make the time if I have to. I’m assuming, whoever you are, you’re paying attention to things said on this device you left me, so I’m sure you can see this. Send me back where I came from... and I might decide not to make you sorry.
[And he waits, leaning back a little in the camera’s view, both hands resting on the grip of his cane. Somewhat impatiently, and fully expecting someone to say something back-- whether it’s a smart something... or a stupid something. He has places to be, and he’d rather not linger here longer than he has to.]

[Belle shouldn't be delighted by this. She isn't, entirely - there's worry, too, both for matters at home and for the inhabitants of this world if anyone decides to go and do something incredibly stupid.
Which, in all honesty, she can't really put past a good half of the people on Verdana on the best day.
But mostly, in the heat of the moment, it's delight, and relief.]
When did you wake up? I'll be there as soon as I can.
Belle? I'm-- outside that underground city I woke up in.
[It's the only thing he has to compare it to, so that's what it gets called, silly-sounding and probably incorrect or not.]
What's going on?
Something put a hole in the walls between worlds. We all - everyone you can reach with this, and everyone still sleeping - fell through from our own lands.
[Which, she realizes, sounds just this side of insane when said aloud.
The library's visible behind her as she goes, hurrying to find the swiftest way up to the Old City base.]
I don't know if it was a curse or - or something else, but whoever's responsible, they're either dead or gone into hiding.
He'll deal with who to punish for it later, though. Once he's understood things a little more fully. More importantly, though:]
Where are you, Belle?
Even if he really doesn't want to wait. So after a pause and a frown, he answers:]
All right. I'll find this... inn, I suppose, and meet you there.
It's just down the lane, around the bend. You can't miss it.
[And then she's gone, to find the first available ride.]
[Action!]
He's also looking a bit like he might blow something up if people aren't careful. This whole situation has him on edge, and all the soldiers aren't making anything more comfortable.]

no subject
[And he seems rather less than pleased about the whole ordeal, but for the moment he's working with it rather than against it.]
I've been to quite a few different worlds. What is this one like?
no subject
no subject
[Like the fine suit and hot running water. Those are both very nice things. Everything else he manages just fine with magic, usually. Here, he's not sure how careful he needs to be.]
So time... changed somehow?
[That's the really interesting part, right there.]
no subject
But after the time shift, things got better.
no subject
And what exactly was this "time shift" that changed everything for the better?
no subject
[slight shrug]
no subject
And just how to you intend to do all that? Some kind of magician, are you, dearie?
no subject
no subject
Ah. A scientist. I wish you luck with that. Dearie.
[Nyah nyah, he's not going to do what you say.]
no subject
Oh, thank you for your kind words, sir, they are so very appreciated by this mere scientist. I'm sure your magic will work quite well.
[of course this was given in the sweetest tone possible.]
no subject
You are quite welcome. Now, I have a lovely lady to wait for, so I believe I'll bid you farewell.
[Though he's never actually tried... seeing the future is bad enough, without having to have the burden of trying to avoid changing the past, on top of it.]
So you have some knowledge of this... situation?
Ship. What exactly is this ship you keep mentioning?
[Well, she's mentioned it once. Belle mentioned it once. A couple other people have brought it up.]
I'm not seeing anything that resembles a ship around here.
[He actually glances back, presumably in the direction of the ship in question.]
Actually, it's more than that. It's a timeship of some kind.
Ah. I never thought things like that were real.
[Which is ironic, given where he's from and the life he's lived, heh.]
Sounds lovely. What else should I expect to be different from, say-- a normal American town?
[His tone is dry and unimpressed, but a little amused, as well. He's not annoyed-- yet, anyway.]
no subject
[ For the record, Helga thinks this is worse than being kidnapped. If they had all been kidnapped, there would at least be someone to face. ]
no subject
[Which is about what Belle said, too. It still isn't something he's sure he understands, though now he's had a little bit to think on it.]
And how, dearie, did these cracks come to be? Or do you know that much?
no subject
[ By several different people. ]
no subject
[Don't take it to heart, Helga, he's like this to everybody.]
no subject
I hope you have better luck than I in obtaining information.
no subject
[Yes, that's right, be an ass and then ask the lady her name.]
no subject
no subject
[If he had a hat, he'd doff it-- mockingly, of course-- but as he doesn't, he merely inclines his head before signing off. Or rather, moving on to a new conversation as he waits for Belle.]
no subject
[video]
Unfortunately, you're going to be stuck here awhile. At least, until we can get the ship up and running, calculate the correct equations for traveling to various points in time and space, and make use of those calculations correctly.
[Which means he's not all that thrilled about it. Science has a place, he supposes, but magic is much more efficient, as far as he's concerned.]
I assume no one has tried making any portals, then?
[Bruce doesn't immediately assume Rumple is talking about magic, here.]
[And he sounds just a little bit pitying when he says it, too.]
I do know the name Thor, however. Deity of sorts, isn't he?
But no, I'm not from a world with magic, as far as I'm aware. But I believe it's possible it could exist in other realities.
