[The face on the network now is not a happy one. This beaky-nosed older gentleman, with his expensive suit and tie and his lightly feathered hair, looks rather coolly displeased. The background is that of the outside of the ship, since he’s apparently found his way out, though he hasn't gone very far yet.]

I’m not sure just who thought it was a good idea to be kidnapping people? But I can assure you, whoever you are, it was a very. Bad. Idea. You have kidnapped entirely the wrong person.

[When he smiles, just one corner of his mouth turning up, it doesn’t look particularly cheerful. It looks a little threatening, actually.]

Whoever is behind this, I have much more important things to do than dealing with you, but believe me, dearie, I will make the time if I have to. I’m assuming, whoever you are, you’re paying attention to things said on this device you left me, so I’m sure you can see this. Send me back where I came from... and I might decide not to make you sorry.

[And he waits, leaning back a little in the camera’s view, both hands resting on the grip of his cane. Somewhat impatiently, and fully expecting someone to say something back-- whether it’s a smart something... or a stupid something. He has places to be, and he’d rather not linger here longer than he has to.]

[Belle shouldn't be delighted by this. She isn't, entirely - there's worry, too, both for matters at home and for the inhabitants of this world if anyone decides to go and do something incredibly stupid.

Which, in all honesty, she can't really put past a good half of the people on Verdana on the best day.

But mostly, in the heat of the moment, it's delight, and relief.]

When did you wake up? I'll be there as soon as I can.

[All that impatient malice evaporates into surprise, and some little worry. This is the last thing he expected, and if someone has Belle, too... well, that someone is definitely going to pay. He'll make the time.]

Belle? I'm-- outside that underground city I woke up in.

[It's the only thing he has to compare it to, so that's what it gets called, silly-sounding and probably incorrect or not.]

What's going on?

[When she woke, she thought it was a mausoleum. City sounds much better.]

Something put a hole in the walls between worlds. We all - everyone you can reach with this, and everyone still sleeping - fell through from our own lands.

[Which, she realizes, sounds just this side of insane when said aloud.

The library's visible behind her as she goes, hurrying to find the swiftest way up to the Old City base.]

I don't know if it was a curse or - or something else, but whoever's responsible, they're either dead or gone into hiding.

[Yes, that does sound a little crazy. But then, he's used to dealing with multiple worlds, and if there's holes between them... well, he can imagine it being possible.

He'll deal with who to punish for it later, though. Once he's understood things a little more fully. More importantly, though:]

Where are you, Belle?

There's a city to the south. They offer housing for people who've been - displaced. It's not far - I can find a shuttle up and meet you at the inn near the camp.

[The thought occurs to him that he might just transport himself to meet her... but it's discarded almost immediately. He doesn't know about how magic works in the world, he doesn't know exactly where they are in relation to each other, and waiting a little while would at least give him time to gather his thoughts again.

Even if he really doesn't want to wait. So after a pause and a frown, he answers:]

All right. I'll find this... inn, I suppose, and meet you there.

[Her smile is quick and delighted.]

It's just down the lane, around the bend. You can't miss it.

[And then she's gone, to find the first available ride.]

[When she gets there, she'll find him standing-- he tried pacing, but the limp was getting annoying, so he settled on just standing-- outside, both hands on his staff, his spell case on the ground beside him and Baelfire's shawl around his shoulders. He looks much like he did when she last saw him, albeit probably in a different suit.

He's also looking a bit like he might blow something up if people aren't careful. This whole situation has him on edge, and all the soldiers aren't making anything more comfortable.]
