HEY. Have any of you guys seen a tall guy in a suit of armor? He looks like this.



His name is Alphonse Elric and he's my little brother. Plus if you see that Nem guy, I need to talk to him about his library. That's it, I guess.

Oh yeah -- that guy with the sword said he was friends with a doctor who could take us back to wherever we came from. I don't know if that's true or not, but someone should keep an eye on him in case it is and he decides to skip out.

I have what we could salvage of our written history. We've collected a great deal but few people are interested in looking at what we've acquired.

So how often do ships come around here? Do they have any in the domes? Or anything that might be able to get us back where we came from?

Ah. There is a defense net around our planet. It makes travel very difficult. If your craft it not marked for safe passage they shoot it down.

They have many things inside the domes.

Hey, that should've be the FIRST thing you mentioned! You mean we've got to sneak out on an authorized ship?

And let me guess, they don't let any of you guys out, righ?

It did not seem that important. None of us can fly a ship. There is no where for us to go.

What about the people in the dome? They've got ships, right?

So all we've got to do is sneak in there, beat up some guards, and steal a ship, right?

Yeah, that Rory guy. He seemed pretty fishy to me, but apparently this buddy of his is always sticking his nose into places he shouldn't.

I'll keep it in mind. But unless his friend is one of the people that made that ship, I wonder if he'd be capable of even finding our homes. There seem to be inconsistencies.

Races I'm unfamiliar with, and I'm very well travelled. Styles of clothing that seem to be fit for different eras of planetary development. The presence of weapons with some and not with others.

I don't know a lot about space aliens, but that guy said time travel might be involved, too. Ugh, this is already giving me a headache.

So you're saying even if we get off this planet, we might not be able to find the right way back?

I wouldn't put all of my eggs in one basket. Do you know if there's any capable technicians that can examine the ship?

Duh. Why do you think I'm looking into that library? The more information I have, the better.

I don't know anything about spaceships, so I wouldn't know. If there is a good mechanic around, I can try and fix the ship with what they know. But that's all.

Perhaps your brother has not awakened yet?

Does he know how we ended up here, this doctor?

That's what I'm hoping. Then again, maybe it's better if he stays where he was.

How the hell should I know?! I'm just repeating what Rory guy said. For all I know, he's not even on the planet.

I don't think it's 'better' ever, to be separated from your friends. [He misses his city. He was fine with dying for their safety but this...confuses him.]

[A sigh.] I'm sorry. I should take my own advice and be patient.

Anyway, at least with him back there, someone'd be around to stop... uh, the bad guys.

[Edward scrubbed a hand back through his hair.]

[A pause, then he threw his hands back up in the air.]

Argh, whatever! I just want to straighten this out and get back home!

[Oh, he does. Wing hates conflict. If an apology will help, it is a simple enough thing.]

I understand it must be hard. I miss people from my world and...I am dead there.

[He nods. ] We need to work on solving how we got here, first, to figure out how to get back.

...for that matter, we need to discover where 'here' is.

Even if I knew the name of this place, I don't think it'd help much. I've never been off my own planet. Before now.

Yes, that is...troubling. I was dying. My last memory was of that.

And now...here.

If we know the name, we may be able to find it on astrogation charts, at least. The people here are at war with another planet. They must have navigation.

[He wishes he were as confident in that as he sounds.]

Guess they must have fixed you up before they brought you here.

And I'll take your word on the charts. But you know, it's possible they only really travel within their own solar system.

Which is merely another mystery. Why would they do that?

[Not that he's not grateful, mind you. It was better than dead.]

It is possible, yes. But even so, it may help. Either piece of information is an answer, instead of just another blank question.

I don't know. But I don't know why they would have kidnapped all these people, either.

If only someone in charge of the ship were around... argh, this sucks.

That is a mystery. Where I come from, slavers took specimens from all species, trying to find a way to be immortal. But this...? We still have our weapons. We have communication devices. It makes no sense.

It would be nice to have answers. But it seems we must search for them. Perhaps there is something in the Library Edmund spoke of?

Immortality, huh? Reminds me of a guy I knew.

Anyway, the library's my next stop. I don't know if there's anything worth seeing, but I'll find it if there is.

I hope he was less unpleasant than the slavers I know.
