[Video] Friday, mid-afternoon, right when the alarms start
[This is a surprisingly regular occurrence, it seems like: something crazy happens with the ship, Todd Tolansky is stuck there and makes a panicked network post in a call for help. This time, though, he's been gone a week or so, so it may surprise a few people.
But here he is, perched on his now-open pod with his communicator in hand looking wild-eyed into the camera. The alarm and flashing lights are obvious in the background, and he has to almost yell over the sound of them.]
Whatever just happened, I totally didn't do it, I swear! I just woke up, okay? I didn't do nothin'!
Somebody come get me outta here, I don't wanna be stuck here again!
[He'll deal with the "I just wound up in a pod again" aspects when the ship isn't telling him it's dispatching security. Whatever dispatching means. He hasn't a clue where "corridor 83-Alpha" is, after all. At the recording warning, he adds, obviously to the air rather than the people on the video:]
Shut up, you stupid ship! I didn't do nothin' and you got no security, anyway!
[Then the feed cuts off.]

[Audio]
[In the background of Tony's transmission, the alarms sound a half-second after the racket surrounding Todd. He's somewhere on the ship, too.]
[He can only sort of make out what Tony's saying.]
Where is the lockdown, then?
[But he's hopping off the pod, anyway. Whether he makes his way to an exit or not is up in the air.]
[Audio]
[He doesn't need to deal with your shouting again, Todd. He remembers the last lockdown. :|]
You're not very helpful, bro!
[Nevermind that he'd just said he wanted out. If he's not locked in, then he's not quite as worried about it.]
no subject
[Not that he believes there will be - but it's a possibility.
More worrying is the possibility of the crazy guy who likes punching through bulkheads going and punching into something explosive.]
no subject
What happened, anyway? You got any idea? And, uh, does this ship actually got security to dispatch?
[Nevermind that he still isn't sure what dispatch means. Vocabulary was never his strong suit.]
no subject
[There's a moment's pause before he qualifies with:]
Probably.
no subject
[He squeaks a little. He's seen some of the ship's security, after all, and it's a little scary. Most of it was people, of course, but still!
He hops a little faster. The feed gets even more bouncy.]
no subject
[That cool, almost bored expression is a favorite of his, but it only lasts a second before he breaks into a relieved grin.]
Sure you didn't do anything. Need me to pick you up? We'll make it a clean getaway.
no subject
[Wait. Pause. Todd squints at the screen in confusion. Didn't Pietro disappear back when the whole yanked-through-time thing happen...?]
Hey, when'd you get here?
[He's a little hard to hear, since he's not shouting the question, but Pietro can handle that, right? It's Pietro.]
no subject
Which is good, because I only have to kick your ass a little, now. You want that ride out or not?
[He was worried, okay? The Brotherhood shows concern by hitting each other.]
edit for clarification
no subject
If yer gonna beat me up, I'm fine to get outa here on my own.
no subject
[Pietro holds up a hand in the boy scout salute. He's never been a scout. He'd be terrible at it.]
no subject
[He relaxes enough to grin back, himself, finally. It's unusually self-aware. He does have moments like that, okay?]
Come rescue me, huh? Just like back home.
no subject
[He smirks.]
Hang tight. I'll be there in a minute.
no subject
[Cuz even if it's a couple hours to get here usually, that's for people who aren't Quicksilver.
Even then, by the time he gets there, Todd is just about out of the ship. He didn't really waste much time. So he might well run into him in the final corridor before the closest exit to the Old City.]
Action!
no subject
[He sniffs, not pleased at being insulted right off the bat, even if he's come to expect it from Pietro. He's too used to Kurt, is all, who is generally nice to him even when he's a jerk.]
You're awake? Where are you? Are you back on the ship?
And what in the world is that sound?
[He's a little surprised that she's not yelling at him, assuming he did do something, to be honest.]
Maybe you should get out of there.
[Not that he's precisely waiting, either. The thought that the ship is messed up has him hopping back along the floor, so the video feed bounces around like crazy. Sorry, Mulan. He doesn't stop it, though.]
Weird like, the whole dizzy thing, when y'get here and leave? And that freaky countdown thing?
What was that about a countdown?
Dunno what it's countin' down to, but it's creepy-wacked.
[Except then she draws a blank because she can't think of any possibilities. There's a fine line between pragmatism and pessimism, sometimes.]
[Todd is obviously not impressed.]
Like I said. Probably some nasty end-of-the-world stuff. I mean, geez, look, it's on my phone, too!
[He gives the thing a shake, pausing in his hopping around, making the view bounce around even more crazily.]
[And now it finally occurs to her to doubt his resourcefulness.]
...I hope this at least means you're on your way out of the ship.
[Video => Audio]
[He does occasionally have manners. He eyes the phone for a minute, before turning off the camera part and getting back to hopping.]
There. And yeah, I'm goin'. Meetin' my bro who woke up while I was out.
[Audio]
[Audio]
[And Pietro might be surprised to hear him sound a little proud and pleased at that, if he was listening in anywhere.]
[Audio]
Good for you.
[Okay, that probably sounds pretty patronizing. But her goodwill is genuine, whatever that's worth.]
[Audio]
Yer warmin' up to me, aintcha.
[Audio]
[Audio]
[He didn't, really. He's just saying that because it soothes the teenage ego.]
[Audio]
Take care of yourself, Todd.
Oh, and your blue friend has the remaining one of your pets in his care still. If you weren't aware.
[Audio]
Oh good. I kinda only got one left, anyway. Other one ran away durin' that time change thingy, so... yeah. Thanks.
[Audio]
[Audio]
[He makes a concerted effort at sounding unconcerned. Over the sound of the claxons. It really doesn't work that well.]
At least One liked me, ya know?
[So what if he still feels a little bad that Thing Two didn't stick around to wait for him. No big deal.]
[Audio]
[Yeah, sorry kid, not buying it.]
Well, as I said. Try to get out of there safely. You don't want One to be left waiting for you any longer.
[Audio]
[But he sounds friendly, as he says it, rather than dismissive. Progress! He does, however, sign off. Pietro's there, and he'd better not be chatting while the other mutant is there. That's just asking to get somebody pissed at you.]
