001; voice
[There's a gravelly voice, one that's obviously aided by a machine. Much like his animated counterpart, this fellow has a tendency to draw out his "s"s ever so slightly.] Well. This is certainly... unexpected. Inconvenient, seeing as I was in the middle of something. [A pause. You can hear the soft whirring of his ventilator as it helps him with that whole. Breathing thing.] But what's life without a few surprises? [There's an underlying hint of bitterness in his voice.]
Looking back on the other transmissions, it seems I've stumbled into quite a situation... Mentions of collars. The... 'Outer Authorities.' All very interesting. Strange, of course. But interesting.
Hm. But perhaps I should introduce myself. I'm the Doctor. [No, not that other guy with the cricketers uniform.] Not to be confused with the... other one. And although I'm an engineer by trade, I have experience acting as a more... "traditional" doctor.
So. If you find yourself in need of medical assistance, don't hesitate to call on me. [Because you can trust tinyVader.]

A physician will be useful. The last attack caused several injuries.

So I've been told. But 'creepy' is so... subjective. I don't take it personally.
no subject
Maybe you should do something about that, then.
[Doctor things, sign language, hand puppets? There are options, that's all he's saying.]
People actually go to you, Doctor Sinister?
no subject
And the people who need me usually aren't in any position to be picky. [That and he still had a face when he was doing the combat medic thing. THAT HELPED.]
no subject
Yeah, might want to work on your, you know, bedside manner while you're at it.
[Don't tell people others have to be desperate to go to you, Doctor Creepy.]
no subject
Should I? I haven't had any complaints about my bedside manner.
no subject
What are you, an undertaker or something?
no subject
Not at all. I'm a [MAD] scientist.
no subject
Scientist. [Ew.] You work for those schmucks at Weyland-Yutani?
[Because if so, he's got a rifle butt he'd like to introduce to your face.]

Was. What happened? You get your contract yanked? [He would cry tears of...nothing if that happened.]

[Wait, that made no sense. Fuck it. Marines don't have to make sense. That's why they carry guns.]

[She's referring to his breathing mask set up, of course. What is tact?]
There's a hospital bunker in the city, they got staff there. Can't say it's the funnest place to be.
no subject
[If he's huffy (which he totally is), he doesn't sound it.]
Hospitals typically aren't-- for the patients, at any rate. Any particular reason with this one?
no subject
We're low on resources here, though. Hopefully you've got a way to keep that thing working or charged up, or whatever. I traded in some oxygen tanks when I first arrived, if you need them.
The unfun part had more to do with the circumstances. But they're pretty lacking in staff and supplies, which doesn't help.

It could get a bit confusing, but I'm sure we can handle it. What field of engineering are you in?
no subject
Biomedical engineering is my specialty, along with computer programming, but I'm quite... [He smiles, not that it can be seen except in his eyes.] versatile in practice.
What are your specialties, Doctor?
no subject
[with a rather wry grin of his own] Versatility is a fine trait to have.
I - hmm. I dabble, really. In most everything.
