[Lyall's showing his face again, this morning, before he heads off back to the Old City for the work-week. The background is the common room of the Flop, just inside. He clears his throat, almost as if he isn't entirely sure how to begin, but he manages well enough.]

I was thinking that some of us have lost track of our numbers. We keep appearing and disappearing, returning to pods or vanishing off on adventures. I was hoping that perhaps we could get a headcount.

[He holds up a clipboard.]

Or rather, I could, and I'd share it with the network as a whole, since I'm doing the work as it is. In a more electronic form, I assure you, this--

[He taps the clipboard, then sets it down again.]

--is just for myself. I am a bit old-fashioned still, I fear. If everyone still about could check in, I would appreciate it. I'm in the lobby of the Flop, if anyone would prefer to come calling rather than speak here. I'll be here until sundown, though I may be back after a day or two, as well.

I've been on Verdana long enough to have picked up a few things. I know what an astrophysicist is. But that's kind of you to explain. You may be of some use on the ship, helping to make it functional again, but I'm sure there's some kind of employment here you could find. We aren't likely to be leaving in the near future.

[Being mild of temperament and demeanor, in general, Lyall merely smiles back.]

I will do so, then. I'm not certain we've actually been introduced. I'm Randolph Lyall, of London, England, on Earth. Eighteen-seventy-five.

Indeed. I'm not entirely certain I was missed at all, except at the office. And yet we all seem to notice when we come back out.

I suppose I ought to explain, my lady. I am a werewolf. I have complete control over myself at all times when in wolf form, of course, aside from the night of the full moon.

It does take some adjustment, yes. I believe it to be different from where Major Alenko and Mister Stark are from, as well. To be honest, I don't believe any of us are familiar with it.

My version of Earth seems to be quite different from those of others I have spoken with. So your Earth may not have had werewolves at all.

[Said with some sympathy. It's hard dealing with multiple universes, but it's something he's had to confront several times now.]

It is fairly close, actually, though there is an addition planet in close orbit which also affects me. It does not make me lose myself and try to hunt, but it does force me into wolf form.
