What do you dream about?

Jack Frost is gone.

And given recent events, and people talking about medical proxies
If something happens to me would someone be able to take care of my cat for me?
Her name is Aura.
She can mostly take care of herself
Since I taught her how to hunt and find shelter
But it would be nice to know that if something happens someone will check up on her.

Also if you see someone texting what seems like gibberish
Or video with nothing there

It has been over a week since the attacks on the marketplace. From my somewhat limited understanding of how it all works I am given to presume, by now, this means any one of us who originally awoke as captives on the ship that died during the incident have had time to have been...resurrected. That is, if they have not been reclaimed by the pods.

I crossed paths with some of you at the wake at Callahan's a few days ago. But there are a still a few familiar faces that...that I do not know the fates of, at this time. And it unsettles me.

So if you are seeing this and are an ally or acquaintance of mine, know that I would like to hear from you. I'm sometimes lacking in keeping track of my companions at the best of times; and I'm well aware of this failing. But even if you weren't at the market during the battle, if I haven't spoken to you since then, I would very much like to speak with you now.

Just so I might know for sure, who's still around. And who's not.

[Pause. Her voice has been getting gradually more emotive the entire time. Her last word is somehow simultaneously restrained and frantic.]

[ Akito has decided to show off his now mostly-grown kitten, Aura, who has a lovely plumage instead of fur.

For those of you who don't believe in him, or spirits in general, all you'll see is an adolescent cat floating in front of the camera as though something invisible is holding her up from under her armpits. ]

Aura has grown so much, ne? I was thinking of getting her a nice collar now that she's big enough...

[ Aura chirps once, then purrs at Akito's attention. While he hasn't figured out her strange mix of language enough to decipher what she says, he at least understands what she means, and so he rubs his face on her head affectionately.

He switches the video to Atticus and Genesis' garden. It looks kind of... shabby, but not yet dead! Since he has been trying his best okay. ;; He comments on it in text, since he wants his message to reach everyone: ]

Does anyone know much about gardening? I'm not very good at it, and I don't want their garden to die.

[Lyall's showing his face again, this morning, before he heads off back to the Old City for the work-week. The background is the common room of the Flop, just inside. He clears his throat, almost as if he isn't entirely sure how to begin, but he manages well enough.]

I was thinking that some of us have lost track of our numbers. We keep appearing and disappearing, returning to pods or vanishing off on adventures. I was hoping that perhaps we could get a headcount.

[He holds up a clipboard.]

Or rather, I could, and I'd share it with the network as a whole, since I'm doing the work as it is. In a more electronic form, I assure you, this--

[He taps the clipboard, then sets it down again.]

--is just for myself. I am a bit old-fashioned still, I fear. If everyone still about could check in, I would appreciate it. I'm in the lobby of the Flop, if anyone would prefer to come calling rather than speak here. I'll be here until sundown, though I may be back after a day or two, as well.

[ which might explain any sudden breezes that Pepper, Jack, Elissa, and Christine may have been wrapped with momentarily shortly before his announcement. just checking in on his friends and important people. ]

So many of the friends I've made are disappearing. I'm sad they're not still here, even if it's selfish.

[ he ends the video feed and switches entirely to text. ]

I think I would like more things to fill my time with.
All I've been doing lately is training and training
But it gets tiring after a while.

Ah... Hi! I'm Akito. I'm, um... Usually invisible to most people because I'm a wind spirit. Back home I kind of... try to manage global warming, so it doesn't happen faster than everything can adapt... Umm...

I thought it would be kind of... cool? To, ah... Try and see if I'll still be visible in a video feed after the collar comes back off... Since you never know, ne?

[ he fiddles with a snowflake he's attached to a small chain he wears. the hand that's visible is splinted, and the plastic may or may not have a couple of random, bright stickers on it. he makes sure the next part is filtered away from Jack: ]

Um... How do you make a... crush go away? Like... Make your heart stop going dokidoki around them...

Uh, so Akito decided to try out not being a spirit. So if you guys seen a teen who looks like a kid running around and getting into trouble... could you make sure he doesn't hurt himself too badly? For someone who can't even use the wind anymore, I can't seem to keep up with all that he does, so some help would be great.

[One of the main reasons he's actually not keeping up with Akito is because he just realized Tooth was gone. Normally, she was easy find but now, she wasn't. And she's someone who just can't miss, so Jack isn't really staying in the city much.

With another smile, he turns off the video and for those who can't see him, a text accompanies this video with more or less the same words he just spoke.]

Okay, I realized I forgot to do my duty and survey everyone who had a little time travel jaunt. So if anyone can help me in that, I would appreciate it. I know it is a little late, but I didn't think it could be important. So, apologies for the tardiness in this question and the potential for any repetition. That was my fault as well, I was distracted with other projects.

Also, I am in the market for an assistant or two. I'm looking for someone who has a basic grasp of the scientific method, or barring that, the ability to help do pesky things like make sure I've been feed and had adequate hydration and that I am getting enough sleep. My assistants tend to be my minders, I'm sorry to say.

And finally, I can use an engineering consult, so that will be much appreciated.

He's shirtless, laying in the grass in the woods somewhere getting rained on but grinning so wide he must not care. So... uh... [And it takes him a moment to decide what's safe to talk about on the video. He's a little addled after more than a week in Nowhere.] How much trouble has my hound been causing?

Probably should have expected all the new faces but I really didn't. New timeline, new faces, gotta keep remembering that. In any case, I'm numero tres on the Spirit That Needs to be Believed In list. I'm Jack Frost.

[A pause in the typing...]

Yes, that Jack Frost. No, my parents weren't being weird or anything. The name I had before I became Jack Frost doesn't have much in common other than my first name. I know I'm not as popular as Tooth or North... er, Santa to you guys. But I really do exist and contrary to what some people say, no I'm not an invisible mutant kid with ice powers. I don't have the X-Gene, nor does it actually occur on my version of Earth. I'm just your common nature spirit that happens to be the one bringing Winter to you guys and working double time lately because of global warming.

But I doubt you want to hear me rant about that. If anything else, I would really appreciate it if you guys put aside your disbelief and actually believe in Tooth, Akito, and I. I know it seems simple, since I am here typing this all out but it's not as simple as you think. You really have to truly believe I'm Jack Frost, I'm the Spirit of Winter who nips at your nose. Tooth is the Tooth Fairy who leaves behind goodies after taking the tooth/teeth you left under your pillow, and Akito is a Wind Spirit, responsible for keeping the winds in check. It really shouldn't be that hard but some of you guys are surprisingly stubborn than most adults.

And adults are unknown territory. Especially for me. I usually deal with kids, after all. Guardian of Fun and responsible for all those awesome snow days that have been existing for a few hundred years now, thank you very much. But seriously, just bear with me. I'm not... used to trying to make adults believe in me. Since you got all that science and logic getting in the way of actually seeing what's, literally, right in front of you.

[ for those of you who can see him, Akito looks a little worse than wear - tired, and covered in scratches; clothes smudged with dirt, and the odd leaf or twig caught in folds. there's one particular scratch across his face that looks like it might have been nasty, but has healed up for the most part.

I was playing in the woods and found a poodle moth! See?

[ he uncovers his hand to show the ridiculously fluffy moth sitting on his palm. it doesn't seem the least bit perturbed by its current location, and even begins grooming its face.

for those of you who can't see Akito, or believe in spirits in general, you'll just see a fluffy moth appearing out of nowhere, sitting on an invisible perch. ]

Hello, everyone!

My name is Toothiana. While that's my given name, almost everyone where I was from referred to me as the 'Tooth Fairy.' Yes, /that/ Tooth Fairy. It's a familiar story for most but to those that it's not-- I collect the teeth of children and leave behind a small gift in exchange. The reason I collect the teeth is because the most precious memories of childhood are stored in them. It's why my other title, though lesser known, is the Guardian of Memories.

[ Though there's no actual delay in the post, she had deliberated for quite a few minutes before figuring out what to say next. ]

I know it's probably a little strange but I'm not the first spirit here. There's Jack Frost and Akito, to my knowledge, and I'm similar to them. You can't see me if you don't believe in me. I don't expect all of you to believe me in me though. Not right away, at least! I hope that you do eventually, of course, as belief is the only thing keeping me in existence.

While I'm aware that english, or at least a variation on it, is the language most used here I'm curious what other ones people know or are more comfortable with at the very least. I'm familiar with quite a few so if there's one you'd prefer speaking in I'm more than willing to oblige.

A language barrier shouldn't be a reason for us to be unable to work together and if anyone wishes to learn a language I'm more than willing to teach.

I'm also wondering if anyone skilled with a sword could use a sparring partner, I seem to be short one.

Off in the distance comes a young man's voice talking in Norse - although thanks to the communicator's translation, there's an easy English text version popping up]

Toothless, what are you doing with that…[there's a crash, as the voice has apparently just dropped something]...oh gods, it's a magic book.

[the giant eye twists away, as Toothless lifts his head up to look inquisitively off at something to the side - the source of the voice, presumably. The angle is strange, and all you can see is part of his head, but it's clear enough that Toothless is covered in black scales, and big.]

Okay, okay…Toothless, just come over here, okay buddy? [Toothless rumbles softly, but takes a step away from the book, and out of view.] That's it, come on…let's get away from the magic, probably cursed book…oh gods, why me…
