Jack Frost is gone.

And given recent events, and people talking about medical proxies
If something happens to me would someone be able to take care of my cat for me?
Her name is Aura.
She can mostly take care of herself
Since I taught her how to hunt and find shelter
But it would be nice to know that if something happens someone will check up on her.

Also if you see someone texting what seems like gibberish
Or video with nothing there
You're probably talking to Sandy, the Sandman.
He is the protector of dreams in my world.
If any of you are having nightmares I'm sure he would be happy to help give you good dreams.

[Speak of the devil.]

[Sandy's clearly distressed. Snowflakes burst over his head, followed by frantic question marks. Jack, gone? How? Why?]

Sometimes people just... disappear. [ even though they know where they go. akito would rather not think about jack being stuck in the pod again. ] The Winds can't find him anymore, and it's been a while, so I think it's safe to say that he's gone for now.

[Sandy looks devastated. His friends are very dear to him, and to think of one being in trouble, when he didn't do anything to help? But what can do that to a Guardian? He conjures up a bust of Pitch. When things go wrong, he's usually a good person to blame. After all, he's made a Guardian disappear before - as Sandy knows all too well.]

He's not hurt. He would just be sleeping...

[Sleeping? Sleeping is Sandy's realm. Sleeping doesn't make people disappear unexpectedly for unknowable chunks of time. Sandy spreads his hands helplessly, eyes wide.]

Ah- More like a... coma? Or a dreamless sleep? Whenever he wakes up again he won't remember being unconscious at all.

[Sandy huffs, fidgets, then steels himself, pulling on a dreamsand pith helmet. If Jack was in a coma, maybe he could help, even if it wasn't the usual sort of sleep. He was going to find Jack]

[Sorry, Akito, when he gets something in his head, he's hard to distract. The video blinks off.]

When did this happen? With Jack, I mean.

But there are some places they won't go so Jack could have been in those places...
Except he wouldn't willingly stay somewhere without any Wind

I had no idea. And here I had been thinking it was just another case of me not keeping track...

He is not the easiest person to keep track of if you don't have help.

He had good friends...I was glad for him. It must be hard when so many people literally can't see you there.

And here I can at least talk using text.

And there is a whole world of children for him to watch over.
He has an important role where we're from.

Then I suppose you are right, and he is glad to be back to his home and his duty.

But even if it is selfish of me, I will miss him. I enjoyed talking to him and maybe I needed him to remind me to laugh and smile once in awhile. And I'll still hope that eventually, he comes back to us.

I'm...not the best at commiserating. Or comforting. But if you ever need someone to listen to you, I'd certainly be willing to try.

[Thor looks taken aback and concerned, though he can already guess where he might be.]

[Who will also probably be upset. Loki and Jack also seemed to have gotten along well.]

Perhaps he will return from the ship, as others have done.

He is the first friend I can remember having.
Everyone keeps disappearing back to the ship
Tooth, Jack, Atticus, Oberon, Genesis, Elissa.
There were others too that I think I could have been friends with.
I really hate the ship

I am not particularly fond of that aspect of it, myself. It has taken my love, among others, as well.

At least you can have no fear that I will disappear back to it. I did not come from it.

Nay, my young friend. I fell through a portal in the sky into the sea, while some of the others were on a voyage to another land. I had been on my way home from a great battle, with a war criminal, at the time.

[He still worries, now and then, whatever happened to Loki-- but after all this time, it's a stale sort of worry, and doesn't do more than give him a moment's pause.]

It sounds like you live a very interesting life

At times I do. At others, it is a very dull life.

[Like a lot of his days here! He loves having his brother back, and his friends here, but damn if it isn't boringly routine most of the time....

At least right now he's on a plane, so that's a bit exciting.]

I will hope to meet this Sandman upon my return. I imagine I will see him, as I do you.

[And for once, he manages to prudently not mention something on the tip of his tongue-- namely, including Jack's name in that.]

[ a few minutes' pause as he communicates with the winds, who are always keeping a general, metaphorical 'eye' on the people he likes. they are, unfortunately, ridiculously awful at informing him when his people go 'missing' unless he asks directly. ]

Where are you?

I and some companions are traveling to the south, and one of the foreign lands there. We are currently on a flying vessel, though we should be landing shortly, I believe.

If you find any pretty pebbles or shells could you bring me one back?

[Though taken aback by that request, Thor rolls with it.]

Certainly! Are there any shapes or colors or minerals you prefer, so that I may bring back something you will appreciate?

[His idea of "pretty" might not match Akito's....]
