The trick is that it needs to outweigh their paranoia about the medical establishment. Some of these people, why, if I was still a tender-hearted young medical resident, I'd be crushed.

Sometimes you have to ease them into things. A few of them come from worlds where the concept of medical ethics was apparently surgically removed.

Although I do have to say the response you're getting's making me think I need to ask you your taste in sandwiches.
