theverymodel: (I will get to the bottom of this)

Video. Medical power of attorney is important.

[Matters have calmed somewhat at the hospital now that the bone fiend infections have all run their unfortunate course.]

Certain issues recently apparent. Authority to make medical decisions often unclear.

[Yes, Shepards, he means the fact that no one is sure which of you gets to authorize autopsies on your crew actually]

Requesting clarification from all non-Verdana natives. Designation of authority in case of incapacitation.

[And because what is death.]

Also stance on post-mortem examination if circumstances unusual.

[Her response is delayed several minutes after she sees his message, because what are you even talking about Mordin? Still, it seems it may be important.]

You're asking us to give the name of somebody we'd like consulted, should we be injured and unable to make decisions for ourselves?

'Proxy'? [But she shakes her head, not waiting for a response. This seems like one of those things from Emma's world, where the more they try and explain the less sense it makes to her.] Do I just have to give you a name? Is there anything more than that?

[She thinks about this.] I suppose if anything happened to me to put me in this situation...I would want Belle to be consulted. She's the person I've known the longest and she is one of the most wise.

And, on the chance she isn't available - since she has a tendency to put herself into danger [she manages a brief quirk of a wry smile] - then instead, either one of the Odinsons will do.

If something happens to all four of us at once, you'll probably be having bigger problems than what to do about me.

Something like that, I'm sure.

AS for your other inquiry...since I would be returning anyway, I guess I don't mind what happens to my remains in the interim.

After all, it's not like it really matters. Not the way it should.

...Has anyone ever told you that your practicality can be a little morbid sometimes?

Well then. As long as you're aware.

[He seems to mean well, even if he is a little unnerving. But she's been called grim herself a few times. Or worse.]

I don't suppose you'd know the answer to this any better than I would. But...can I ask: has there ever been any occurrence so far of one of us who came from the pods dying and then staying dead? As in, permanent.
