[Audio] Friday, Week 52
This is Inara. I'm on the ship. Is there anyone still working who has something with them that I could wear back into the city?
text;
If that's any help
Re: text;
[She just got called a nudist by a damn robot, she'll take whatever help she can get]
Is it a long way for you to walk?

Re: text;
sorry for being so slow! school. bah ;;
[ And he does arrive within a few minutes; blanket folded carefully and held in his arms. When he tries to fly into the ship he's startled when the wind goes still and he's left to crash into the ground somewhat painfully, letting out a small yelp as he does so.
He'll take a moment to reorient himself - to try and not panic over the sudden silence - and pick up the blanket he's brought; dusting it off and carefully folding it once more.
While he doesn't seem to have any of his abilities at the moment, Akito still works under the assumption that he maintains his invisibility, and so doesn't bother calling out for the woman he's come to aid. ]
Re: sorry for being so slow! school. bah ;;
Hello?
no subject
...Hello?
no subject
Akito, is that you? I'm in here.
no subject
Miss Inara? I've brought you a blanket.
no subject
Thank you. I don't suppose you know how long I've been gone?
no subject
Ah... I didn't realize you had gone.
no subject
It happens.
[She's used to wearing dresses that start out as one rectangular piece, so she wraps the blanket around herself without much fuss]
Your arm looks better.
no subject
[ oh. oh. right. his arm. from ... a while ago. ]
It healed fast, once I was back to normal.
no subject
[She still isn't really sure about this spirit thing.]
Do you want me to bring this back to you?
[Audio]
I could bring you something. I'm still down in the Old City, so it won't take me long to get up there.
Re: [Audio]
[Audio => Action!]
[There's a slightly cocky grin in her voice before she signs off. She stops off only long enough to grab a spare pair of pants and tunic from a depot down in the city, and then she's running up the mountain path. She knows it well, and nobody can outrun her, so it doesn't take her long at all to get there.
Then it's just finding the right pod chamber.]
Re: [Audio => Action!]
I'm in here.
[Action]
Hello! This may not be to your size, but they do not have many options at the depot.
[She holds up the folded bundle of pants, shirt, and brief-type underwear, making her way through the field of metal containers towards the lovely lady.]
Re: [Action]
I don't think that I can afford to be very picky right now. Thank you.
[She's never actually worn pants in her life, so this should be interesting.]
no subject
Glad to help out where I can. Guess you've been out of it for a while-- what's the last thing you remember?
no subject
I was walking home from the shop, but that probably doesn't help you much. I don't remember coming back here, but I don't remember getting home, either.
It was . . . maybe a week after that strange message from the Oracle.
no subject
The peeking turns into looking over her shoulder fully her, though, at the timing, with all interest in lovely women's bodies gone and all soldierly bearing back.]
Ohoho.
[There isn't all that much humor in that chuckle. What's there is pretty black.]
Then you missed all the excitement... the marketplace was attacked by monsters made out of bone. Many, many people died.
no subject
I missed the attack on the market, but I heard about it.
[Not to mention that it had prompted her doctor to publicly announce that he wanted to cut everyone up.]
I meant the next message, the one where she said she was a construct and had fixed the . . . temporal thing.
no subject
Ah, well. You missed less, then. People coming back from the dead in droves, and many others... not. And a mountain collapsing. There was that. Also, I have spoken with the AI here, Salvation, and I think I may know something more important about our fox.
no subject
I see. I spoke with our friend about him, before this happened. His suspicions are the same as ours, and he can get us into a better library.
[She eyes herself critically. She looks like a man and has no idea whether these pants actually fit her or not, but it will do.]
Presentable? You can tell me about him on the way back.
no subject
[She looks Inara up and down, this time openly since there's clothing involved, and grins.]
You will always be presentable. But you look fine. The fit is not perfect, but it does what it needs to. Here.
[She tosses her a pair of soft-soled shoes meant for various sizes of feet, then jerks her head back towards the exit.]
I'll walk you back.
no subject
I have to make an appointment, but I can see if he'll let you come with me. If things like this keep happening, it would be better to have more than one set of eyes in there, I think.
[The ship makes her nervous enough that it probably shows. She hasn't even been up here since her arrival, and part of her is expecting wraiths and Roland-controlled murderers around every corner.]
no subject
I would like that. To come with you when you go, I mean. As for the guy-- he does have mind control. He permanently overwrites neurons. And his name is Anthony David Morgan. He may have been part of the crew-- or else a good computer thief.
[She doesn't know the term for "hacker" in English, sorry, Inara.]
no subject
A computer thief - was his name in the crew register? Local legend is that one of the first people from the ship could drive people mad with a touch, which sounds like our man.
[It would also make him over one hundred years old.]
no subject
[She sounds excited, really. It's her first really good lead. Even if it doesn't necessarily lead anywhere good, it's better than what they've found so far, and it can lead to more.]
What if he is the one who made the ship crash? What if he is connected to this end of the reality that I saw when I touched him because he is causing it somehow? Or he wants it?
[Okay, now she's just extrapolating, but she's excited, okay.]
no subject
[Wanting to amass as much power as possible on Verdana, even at the cost of others from the ship is at least something that makes sense. What possible benefit can anyone gain from ending reality?]
no subject
Why do villains do anything? They want power, they want revenge, they have a safe reality they can escape to, they want to die themselves and take everyone else with them....
[From the way she says it, Inara can probably pick up that Haruka has fought... pretty much all those types.]
At least with this, we can start making better guesses as to what he wants.
no subject
You said you saw something?
no subject
[She shrugs.]
But we have a way to see if he has meddled with someone, as long as it has not been too long, so if I can find someone recently affected, I can prove whether it is him or not.
no subject
no subject
[She needs to get in there and ask, really.]
no subject
no subject
Neauroimaging equipment. And somebody who knows how to use it.
[She had to look that up in English, since the conversation about it took place in Japanese. But she's sure that's the right translation.]
no subject
He's a bit odd, but not so bad if you know how to handle him. And he does excellent work.
The hospital should have neuroimaging equipment, but I don't know how easy it will be to get access. I'll ask him when I see him.
no subject
[Haruka gives a sniff, with that. But she relents and offers Inara a little smile, as they step out into the open air at last. It's hard to stay annoyed around someone that pretty, especially when one isn't even annoyed at her.]
Thank you for your help, Inara-san. We'll find him sometime.
no subject
I hope so. I promised Nem that no one else would die for this.
[Video]
I'm sewing a whole bunch of freaking robes and pants and shit and leaving them in a big fucking box on that damn ship. Like, right now.
This is getting freakin' ridiculous.
[Time to go shopping, it looks like.]
[Audio]
Re: [Audio]
I keep mine restocked after that first time, but apparently everyone keeps missing the memo.
I'm thinking lots of robes.
Re: [Audio]
Re: [Audio]
[Hey, Pietro's charity has limits. Not very high ones, either.]
