[Usually by this time of night, Thor is back from his daily work with the Authorities, trying to wrangle wraiths. Since he can fly, and fly quickly, he always tries to be home for dinner with Loki, even if he doesn't stay.

Tonight, though, he's putting a message up on the network, one which flickers randomly between color and sepia-toned, and occasionally goes fuzzy enough to static over his words. What can be seen of him between the poor connection is obviously wan and tired, more so than probably anyone but Loki and Tony has ever seen him, and even a bit like he's been beaten on. It's hard to make out the background, but someone with sharp eyes might recognize where they were decontaminated after the time travel shenanigans, or at least someplace like it.]

Ah, hello, everyone. I have good news! And I-- fzzt-- slightly bad news. The good news is, the wraiths, at least fzzt, appear to be confined within the plague shields. It was a terrible fight. I would not recommend-- fzzt-- attempt it.

The rather bad news, however, is I-- fzzt-- those shields, as well. So... I am in this decontamination facility for-- fzzt-- until the good healers release me as fit for interacting with the rest of-- fzzt.

... I am sorry I missed dinner, Loki.

[Then static overtakes the message entirely. He'll be back, it just might take him a few minutes.]

[He looks collected and slightly annoyed, but Thor knows him well enough to see some disappointment. He doesn't like it when his brother's away.]

Just give me sufficient warning so I can make enough for your return.

[After a minute or two, Thor finally shows up again to respond. The connection is not any better than it was before.]

I shall try. How much-- fzzt-- sufficient? I am not certain they will tell me in advance-- fzzt-- release me, but I could endeavor to fly very slowly if it will help.

[At the moment, he rather looks like he will be flying rather slowly, regardless. He looks like a tired and slightly floppy puppy.]

Perhaps we'll just go and eat at a restaurant that night.

[Though there are some things he could probably cook quickly. He was just trying to tease back and not be too much of a downer.]

What's interfering with your communicator so? Is it damaged, or is it something to do with those shields?

[Thor frowns down at the screen, though not at Loki in particular.]

I do not-- fzzt-- it may be the shields. Or perhaps there is-- fzzt-- these buildings which makes it harder to-- fzzt.

[The view shakes a little, as if Thor is shaking the communicator. In fact, that is exactly what he's doing.]

I, eh, doubt you'll be able to diagnose the issue from there.

[Not Thor's sort of thing. Besides, the shaking makes him a little dizzy.]

You'll know when you leave them, after all.

Indeed, and possibly a more-- fzzt of determining the problem. I shall attempt to-- fzzt-- once I am released.

Is everything all right, at home? Have I missed anything-- fzzt!

Nothing particularly amiss, brother. Do your best to enjoy your... respite.

[Thor did not take well to boredom. Loki hoped he'd run into a monster or two to smash on his flight home or he'd be in a foul mood.]

[There is enough space in the bad connection to at least discern the wry tone. Obviously Thor also knows he doesn't take well to boredom....]

Don't worry. You'll be smashing dire threats again in short order, I'm certain.

I do hope so. Provided the boredom does not result in-- fzzt-- down the walls here. This is not a very entertaining-- fzzt!
