[Usually by this time of night, Thor is back from his daily work with the Authorities, trying to wrangle wraiths. Since he can fly, and fly quickly, he always tries to be home for dinner with Loki, even if he doesn't stay.

Tonight, though, he's putting a message up on the network, one which flickers randomly between color and sepia-toned, and occasionally goes fuzzy enough to static over his words. What can be seen of him between the poor connection is obviously wan and tired, more so than probably anyone but Loki and Tony has ever seen him, and even a bit like he's been beaten on. It's hard to make out the background, but someone with sharp eyes might recognize where they were decontaminated after the time travel shenanigans, or at least someplace like it.]

Ah, hello, everyone. I have good news! And I-- fzzt-- slightly bad news. The good news is, the wraiths, at least fzzt, appear to be confined within the plague shields. It was a terrible fight. I would not recommend-- fzzt-- attempt it.

The rather bad news, however, is I-- fzzt-- those shields, as well. So... I am in this decontamination facility for-- fzzt-- until the good healers release me as fit for interacting with the rest of-- fzzt.

... I am sorry I missed dinner, Loki.

[Then static overtakes the message entirely. He'll be back, it just might take him a few minutes.]

[Sandy goes through a series of mimes, involving falling asleep with happy dream-images floating over him, then rethinks it. Well. Might as well keep trying words. They were working so far.]

[He beams. The image wavers a little, but then firms up again.]

It would be unpleasant to have-- fzzt-- dole out bad dreams. How do you find those to-- fzzt-- dreams to?

[Sandy shakes his head emphatically at the idea of sending anyone a bad dream.]

[...clearly he has... opinions about this. The question, however, cools him down. He mimes a sigh and spreads his hands.]

[He has no idea what Pitch is, unless it's tar, in which case he has no idea what that has to do with anything. But he's got the idea that Sandman doesn't do nightmares.]

You require belief to-- fzzt-- who need dreams?

[He tilts his head thoughtfully.]

What kind of belief? How does-- fzzt-- a thing?

[Boy, this is getting complicated. Sandy wishes someone around here actually understood his symbol-language. It'd be a lot easier. But Thor got close enough, so he just opens his mouth for a moment, closes it thoughtfully, then nods.]

[Might be easier of Thor didn't keep cutting in and out and losing words, too. At least the text communication doesn't waver, on his end. He frowns at the message.]
