Good morning, everyone. It's Lyall.

[See how far he's fallen: he's not even putting up both names anymore. It's been a while since he's come up on the network of his own accord, rather than replying to someone else.]

I have a few things here I need some help with, and I've come to the end of my direct contacts. First, I have a list of numbers that are apparently some kind of directional coordinates-- from space. Destination unknown, origination point unknown, though I have a few guesses I could make. Are there any pilots who might be able to assist in finding where they lead to?

Also, I've got a piece of glass here that I'm told is potentially full of data. If anyone would like a crack at translating it, do let me know? It could be fairly important.

Unfortunately, these coordinates mean nothing to anyone who has not piloted in space. As in, between planets. They don't mean much to some of them, either, to be honest. This is more of a shot in the dark than anything I really expect anyone to be able to help with.

That would be useful indeed. Can you help speed a ship along faster than it would otherwise travel?

Theoretically it should be possible.
The speed I could increase it by would be dependent on the aerodynamics of the ship though.

I imagine so. It's all tied into physics, so it couldn't go faster than the wind you could summon and the speed the ship itself is actually capable of. But you could, I suppose, make a ship at its most efficient. Very useful, indeed.

[Gives him momentary visions of derigibles and rolling land-ships guided by magical wind, but he knows better than to think he can actually create such things. Maybe with help.]

Assuming that coordinates here aren't significantly different than back home, I'll be able to read them for you. I'm not quite flightworthy yet, I'm afraid, but I'll help however I can.

I'm afraid to say they are significantly different from anything anyone I've shown them to so far. I'd be happy for you to take a look, but unless you know how to go between planets, I don't know that you'll recognize them at all.

How'd you manage to get your hands on navigational data from a starship? I thought all the computers were offline.

From a charming old woman who is generally difficult to understand. Hence my taking so long, and already a bit of help, to figure out just what they were. Do you know anything about space travel, then?

Space travel, yeah. Navigation, not so much. It's a pretty specialized field - most of us had other duties. Besides, I'm pretty sure we aren't even in the same galaxy I'm used to, so even if I could triangulate your ship's path, I couldn't tell you where it was supposed to end up.

Ah well. I do have one lead, anyway. But I think we can make a few guesses as to at least one or two points of reference. Verdana is possibly one, Antigua another possible one. Earth may well be another, given how many of us come from there, it seems like a common reference point. Perhaps that can be of some use.

It would indeed. I took it to Edmund, and he at least told me what he thinks it is. Now we just need someone to tell us what it says.

Huh. I wonder how you read something like that. It must fit in some kind of machine or device that can retrieve the data.

I think I know what you're talking about, and where it can be read. That's their version of data storage, and if the ones that Solus and I tripped over during the hunt for the plague cure are an indication, very stable over the long term.

It might involve a small road trip.
