[ when Akito first notices the fog, it becomes clear to him that that's what the Winds wanted to bring to his attention. he had promised Christine Chapel that he would pass information along to her if he found anything out about the fog, since technically it falls under his domain, and so decides that it couldn't hurt to investigate it up-close.

the advantage of having a more modern cell-phone type communicator is the bonus of a built-in flashlight, which Akito uses to help record the strange colour mixture of the fog - sickly greens and yellows instead of the pure white-grey of water vapour.

for those that can hear him, they might notice the occasional muffled cough, but it soon stops when he forgoes breathing.

Fog is not safe!
Air is acrid.
Best to avoid it.
Should linger for a few days.

((ooc: for anyone who wants to action, he's on the outskirts of the city, using his powers to keep the fog away from him. also his texting will get progressively worse as his eyesight fades more, though it will come back in a few hours!))

[The feed turns on accidentally with a noisy clatter and some shaking from the camera, as Mulan's device is knocked from her pocket and lands on the ground. The angle is a little off, not quite sideways but tilted upward and to one side.

At first there's nothing but darkness, an empty street, some thick wisps of fog rolling along the ground, and the sound of someone yelling off-screen, muffled and disjointed.]

--your ground, you motherless wretches! You demons! What, does Shan Yu send cowards to fight his war?

[At last Mulan wanders into view, looking off somewhere to the side. Her eyes are hazy and wide, visibly alert and wild with adrenaline, her hair half undone and her body dripping sweat. She looks feverish and her darting gaze seems to focus on things that no one else can see. Her sword is clutched tight in her hands.]

You think sneaking away, running around and trying to stab our men in the back will save you? I see you there! You cannot hide from me!

[With a roar she pounces on a broken, abandoned cart, kicking and stabbing it to further pieces. But then, in the background, a townsperson walks by.

Mulan catches the movement and spins on them instead, the two of them vanishing out of sight of the camera as she gives chase with sword raised and a maddened screaming battle cry.]

[That's just a little disconcerting, to wake up in a pod, and memories, hazy at first, then firming, of another awakening, and time passing before she is swallowed by darkness. Jane sits up, and hurries out of the pod, clothes just slightly rumpled, her notebook and the device firmly in hand. She steps out of the ship, before turning to her device, and flips it on.]
