010 ⌥ VOICE [backdated to wednesday, i'm so sorry]

[This is posted from Kaidan's communicator, not that she makes it obvious. Hers is still somewhere in the dome. She has yet to requisition a new one.]

I'm alive.

[And she has answers. But she's not sure how much to say on the network. How much the Authorities don't already know she knows. So she'll tell them how to find her, and hope they think to ask their questions in person instead.]

Hospital, south wing, and if Alenko's got any say in it, I'll be here for a while longer.

Telepaths, psychics, or whatever the hell you want to call the people that crawl into your head... You're going to want to see this. [Yes, that is a free pass into her skull. No, don't get used to it.]

[There's more than a bit of slyness in the Doctor's voice.]

South wing, hmm?

[There's some shuffling, and several indignant beeps.]

Oh, do be quiet.

Oh, yes. I've eluded must stricter security than this, you know. [Granted, they aren't usually there for his benefit.]

[The Doctor had retrieved his coat, by this point, and he shrugs it on over his gown after dispensing with anything still attached to him. From then on it's a simple matter of making himself scarce or acting like he belongs, and he's an expert at both.

When he arrives at Shepard's door, he rummages in his pockets for several moments before retrieving a lock pick. He's been called primitive more than once, but it gets the job done.

He can't help but grin when the door clicks open, and he does, indeed, sidle on through.]

Hello, Commander.

[His grin deepens as he silently shuts the door behind him.] I appreciate that. I've enough bruises, I think.

[His smile falters, for a moment, into something a bit uncertain, a bit sheepish. Then it's back, determinedly bright.]

Oh, I'm doing quite well. Really, this more inconvenient than anything. [He glances quite grumpily at his slung arm.]

The rest - scratches and bruises, that's all, I've had worse. [He doesn't mention the broken ribs, despite the thick wrap beneath his gown. Even considering all that - yes, he's had worse.]

[A sympathetic and slightly guilty grimace.] They won't even let me help with patients. [Other patients, Doctor, you do indeed count.]

Not officially speaking, but I do have experience tending to the injured. [He flashes a rueful smile.] I find trouble wherever I go, it seems.

You can, however, choose not to involve yourself in it.

Or so I've heard.
