[the video feed flickers on, showing a young woman with a frustrated expression sitting in front of a smoldering heap of scrap metal. Maybe it used to be an X-Wing. It's hard to tell, really. In her hands is something that looks like a high-tech blow torch, which she uses to weld two pieces of metal together. Once Jaina sees that the connection is stable, she sets it down to look at the recorder ]
Judging from the fact that there's an active network of...some kind here, I'm guessing whoever I'm talking to is able to patch me through to someone who is able to get me parts for a standard X-Wing fighter. Networking.
[ she rolls her shoulders and eyes simultaneously ]
As you can see, I'm having a little trouble getting off the ground. The sooner someone gets me flying the better- don't worry about repairs. I can handle most of them myself. I just need parts.
Now, payment. Since that is typically the first concern for parts dealers in remote sectors like this. Creds are in the other flight suit, but as soon as I get back to base I can guarantee you'll be compensated. I have access to Republic funds. I'm transferring my coordinates for delivery.
Following me so far, mortals? Good. See to it that the Great One is pleased.
[ with a sigh, she turns and goes to start up the blow-torch again ]

You might have a little trouble with that, fraulein. Just so I'm clear, you got here on that thing, ja?
Re: [Audio]
I tried flapping my wings for a bit, but that got a little old.
[Audio]
Then you'd have missed the memo. All of us here who aren't local woke up from stasis on a crashed ship outside the city and we don't know why or how.
[He's gotten pretty good at this.]

Unfortunately, I don't think it will be entirely so easy. But, you landed here in your own ship?
[A brief hesitation before she decides to ask.] What solar system are you from?
no subject
Republic space, mid-rim. [ she's hesitant to give more information than that, as the location of Borelais is meant to be secretive. ]
no subject
I hope you can find something that will work for you to repair.

"Great one"? Well, look who's got delusions of grander.
[Yes, that's not a typo. He really did say that wrong.]
You wanna get help, yer goin' about it all wrong, sweetcakes.
no subject
And I should be taking advice from someone who calls a clearly aggravated woman with a plasma torch sweetcakes?
no subject
Besides, you know. Not face to face or anything.]
Heh. When you can use that torch thing through a phone, then I'll be worried. You crashed here? Seriously? Didn't wake up on the bigger ship?
[He cranes his neck a little, as if trying to look over her shoulder in the video.]

[Video] +1 clueless robot
Afraid you probably won't find many parts to repair it, though.
Uh.
Great One?
Re: [Video] +1 clueless robot
That's...not exactly comforting.
[ she sighs, running a hand through her hair ]
The Trickster Yun-Harla, at your service. Well, figuratively anyways.
I don't mean to sound dismal, but I don't think you'll be going anywhere any time soon.
[He tries, bless him. Have a shrug.]
Figuratively?

Hang on. Did she not come from the ship?]
You might be able to find a few comparable parts, but as far as specifics go you'll probably have to weld your own if you're that handy with the blowtorch.

The only locals that have what I'd consider technology up to spaceflight standards are the unfriendly kind, unfortunately. I've been poking at a little of their antigrav tech, but it's running off a completely different kind of physics than I'm used to.
[The curiosity intensifies as he peers at the smouldering heap behind her.]
So if you landed in that thing, does that make you from Antiqua, or elsewhere?
Re: [Video]
Unfriendly as in shoot first, ask later? Or unfriendly as in not invited to the dinner parties?
[ the name doesn't register ]
Republic space. Near mid-rim. I'm guessing you're part of the operation here?

I would be glad to offer some assistance. Space travel isn't exactly common where I'm from, but I do specialize in aircraft. Perhaps I could jerry-rig something to get your systems up and running, even if you can't get all the parts?
Heh. Great One. That's good, really. I should remember it.

It's not a good nickname unless it's catchy.
