One Rose Petal ✿ {Video}

[There is a bit of some fumbling before the device is turned on. It shows a young man with silver hair tied up in a bandanna. Yes, those are beads in his hair too. He's also well equipped. With a lot of weapons.]

Hello? Is anyone there?

[Good thing some of his friends have been from worlds there were technologically advanced because Firion probably would never have figured out the device. He does turn it over a couple of times before looking back at the screen.]

My name is Firion. I was suppose to have ended up home and instead, ended up here. What world is this? Has another Cycle begun? Has the Conflict truly not ended? If that's the case, has anyone seen my friends?

There are many, but the Warrior of Light, the Onion Knight, Cecil Harvey, Bartz Klauser, Terra, Cloud Strife, Squall Leonhart, Zidane Tribal, and Tidus are their names. They were in the Conflict with me. I have friends at home as well, Maria, Leon, and Guy.

Do these names sound familiar? Please let me know! I would appreciate it very much if I could get as much information as possible about this land.

This is the world Verdana, and it is sadly not part of any known star system that anyone who woke up in that same place you did recognizes. There are around forty of us who have woken up there, most of us from vastly different places and times.

Myself--

[He offers a slight bow, despite being sitting down.]

--I am Professor Randolph Lyall, of London, England, on Earth, from eighteen seventy-five.

I'm afraid I haven't heard of Fynn, either. That is hardly unusual, however: there seem to be people from a great variety of worlds here. Most of them do seem to at least be aware of Earth in some form, though.

[He shakes his head. Not important.]

If you need a guide down to the city, do let me know, I would be glad to show you down. Once you manage to get out of the ship, it isn't hard to find-- it's just at base of the mountains. There is a building here called the Flop that should have rooms available for you, and there are some basic things to know here.

[They really ought to make a pamphlet or something. An instruction manual for Verdana life.]

Ask anyone, or look for one of the few buildings that still has a second story and looks relatively intact, in the center of the city. That will be the Flop. As for things you will need to know....

[He sighs, and starts listing things.]

Avoid the dome you see beyond the ruined city, and the hovering crafts you might see flying about overhead. They carry hostile soldiers from beyond that dome. Be careful in the wilderness, as there are some very large predators there, though we have been trying to thin them out. The natives do not trust us, so attempt to walk softly with them. If you wish to trade for anything, speak to Edmund, and if you need a long-term position, speak to Nem or Miss Potts. And this network device is monitored by hostile forces, so do be careful what you say on it.

I do wish I could be of more help. Simply listing facts is not the same as truly explaining or showing.

[He gives a little sigh, but can only do so much in a day, particularly a day in which he really ought to sleep at some point.]

If you have any questions or would like a more thorough explanation of the place, do let me know. I am generally most available after dark.
