One Rose Petal ✿ {Video}
[There is a bit of some fumbling before the device is turned on. It shows a young man with silver hair tied up in a bandanna. Yes, those are beads in his hair too. He's also well equipped. With a lot of weapons.]
Hello? Is anyone there?
[Good thing some of his friends have been from worlds there were technologically advanced because Firion probably would never have figured out the device. He does turn it over a couple of times before looking back at the screen.]
My name is Firion. I was suppose to have ended up home and instead, ended up here. What world is this? Has another Cycle begun? Has the Conflict truly not ended? If that's the case, has anyone seen my friends?
There are many, but the Warrior of Light, the Onion Knight, Cecil Harvey, Bartz Klauser, Terra, Cloud Strife, Squall Leonhart, Zidane Tribal, and Tidus are their names. They were in the Conflict with me. I have friends at home as well, Maria, Leon, and Guy.
Do these names sound familiar? Please let me know! I would appreciate it very much if I could get as much information as possible about this land.

This is a very strange world, and a lot of us have been taken from where we belonged. So at least you're not alone? I'm afraid nothing you're asking sounds familiar--well, Cloud and Squall are common names among my people, but I doubt you mean Raksura.
[Though wouldn't it be nice if he did? Strife could be a name, too, though a terribly ill-omened one to set on poor a fledgeling's shoulders.]
no subject
I'm afraid I don't know what Raksura is, but thank you nonetheless.

[Even with people coming from all the worlds that ever were, apparently. He's getting rather lonely.]
This place is Verdana. And the pod you woke up in? If you look around you'll see more people in more of them. We're taken from where we were somehow and brought here.

[The name sounds unfamiliar to him.]
Oh, yes, I did see the pods. It was... disturbing, to say the least. But I was at least grateful that my weapons were nearby. I wish I simply knew how!

[Of course it's magic. What isn't?]

Good morning, Mister Firion. I regret to say none of those names sound familiar, but I can assure you that there is no Cycle here that we are aware of, and while there is a conflict of sorts, I do not believe it to be the one you recall.
[He looks a bit apologetic, and definitely friendly, though he has forgotten to lift his glassicals off his nose, so one eye is magnified quite larger than the other, and the lenses themselves look fairly complicated, given the number of dials and layers they have.]
no subject
No, I suppose not. The Conflict I speak of is between the Goddess of Harmony and the God of Discord. It's quite obvious to me now that they are not here.
May I ask where I am, then?
no subject
Myself--
[He offers a slight bow, despite being sitting down.]
--I am Professor Randolph Lyall, of London, England, on Earth, from eighteen seventy-five.

[He shakes his head. Not important.]
If you need a guide down to the city, do let me know, I would be glad to show you down. Once you manage to get out of the ship, it isn't hard to find-- it's just at base of the mountains. There is a building here called the Flop that should have rooms available for you, and there are some basic things to know here.
[They really ought to make a pamphlet or something. An instruction manual for Verdana life.]
no subject
Mm. I believe I can see the city from here, I can make it there. Though will there be a way for me to know which building is called the Flop? What else must I know?
[There really should be.]

[He sighs, and starts listing things.]
Avoid the dome you see beyond the ruined city, and the hovering crafts you might see flying about overhead. They carry hostile soldiers from beyond that dome. Be careful in the wilderness, as there are some very large predators there, though we have been trying to thin them out. The natives do not trust us, so attempt to walk softly with them. If you wish to trade for anything, speak to Edmund, and if you need a long-term position, speak to Nem or Miss Potts. And this network device is monitored by hostile forces, so do be careful what you say on it.

[That was a lot to take in. But he was pretty sure he would head to this Flop area soon enough. A place to stay was definitely something to figure out before anything else. The predators intrigued him, only because he knew he could possibly help with that.]
Thank you, professor. You've been very helpful.

[He gives a little sigh, but can only do so much in a day, particularly a day in which he really ought to sleep at some point.]
If you have any questions or would like a more thorough explanation of the place, do let me know. I am generally most available after dark.
Video
[Late to the party, as usual. Darwin's up to her eyeballs in engine parts most of the time, these days.]
I'm afraid it's unlikely that this world is any place you're familiar with, but I welcome you all the same. My name's Darwin, and I try to assure the newcomers that I will not attempt to eat them. [She grins, for effect.]
Video
Er, yes, they are, I suppose. But they are wonderful comrades! I would not be here without them.
A pleasure to meet you, Darwin! [He chuckles lightly.] I did not expect you to, though I'm grateful all the same.
Re: Video
They probably didn't have much with you getting here, to be honest. This is a different planet - possibly a whole different dimension - from my home, and of the rest of us who came from the pods. Nobody knows why we're here, or how. It's all a bit of a mystery, truth be told.
Video
It was quite odd, but now being in a whole new world is not as surprising now. Still, at least in the Conflict, I knew what was going on. I wonder if my friends are also still in those pods...
Re: Video
[She's trying to be gentle. It's not the easiest news to take, for some people.]
At least we're all in the dark together?
