[That's just a little disconcerting, to wake up in a pod, and memories, hazy at first, then firming, of another awakening, and time passing before she is swallowed by darkness. Jane sits up, and hurries out of the pod, clothes just slightly rumpled, her notebook and the device firmly in hand. She steps out of the ship, before turning to her device, and flips it on.]

Question. Hi. It's Jane Foster, and I think I've returned. So back to the question, how long have I been gone and is Pepper still here?

Jane!

[Pepper often smiles, but it's rare for Pepper to be beaming, looking up from the backdrop of a semi-familiar apartment that seems to have gotten suddenly a lot more cozy and furnished than the last thing Jane would remember seeing.]

Oh my god, you're back. And you remember? I think you're actually the first person to be podded longer-term and come back who remembers. Team Science is going to swarm you...

[She trails off, the beam settling back to normal smile dimensions, although the delighted relief lingers.]

That and there's someone else who's going to swarm as soon as he finds out you're awake. Assuming he hasn't raised you already, that is.

[Thor is in the middle of trying to hammer down the rest of his house's roof when the communicator chimes. It takes him a few minutes to put down said hammer and investigate, and then when he does, it takes him several long breaths to tell himself he's not dreaming.

Then he can't hit send fast enough.]

Jane?

[Have an eager and hopeful looking godling staring back at you, Jane, with a backdrop of the sky and a few rooftops.]

[Pepper ought to beam more. Jane smiles back.] That's not usual? For people to not remember? Well, I'll suppose I'll have to submit to Team Science.

[now she blinks]

And who-you mean Thor? He's here?

Thor? [Jane's a little wide-eyed and happy] Where are you?

[The dimples are out in full force in Pepper's smile now, and she nods confirmation.]

Fell out of the sky near a ship that some of us were on an exploratory mission aboard. Apparently the Bifrost mis-delivered him to here, so he went on the expedition with them, and now he's back in the Old City with them. I got him a communicator, so if he doesn't catch this message you can raise him... or surprise him.

In the city, at the house I-- at my house here. Are you still by the ship? I can meet you.

[It seems like it's been so long! And for him, it really has. The Bifrost destroyed, the time between that and being sent to collect Loki-- with no time to visit her, either!-- the weeks spent here... he has no idea how long it's been for her. Everything is so confusing when you have multiple worlds to deal with.

At least she recognizes him.]

[Wes recognizes the face, but not hte name. And she doesn't really seem like Padme. He's seen a lot of things, but this is a new one.]

Jane Foster, huh?

You know Pepper? Does that mean you know Tony Stark and Thor and Loki?

[She's quite taken aback by this video, not at all expecting someone to say something like this.]

You've been here before? I thought we were unable to leave.

Thor does love to fall out of the sky. First time he did that, Darcy thought he was drunk and tasered him.

[she will not mention the grazing him with the van incident, either.]

You have a house? That's great. [a huge smile] I can meet you in the city. I'll feel better there than here.

Hello. Yeah, I did leave this place, or perhaps it was more like I went to sleep in the pod for a while.

Darn, always late for the plague. A few months? That's a while. [Tony could hear the scratching of a pencil against paper. Always collecting data, Jane's scribbling in her notebook.]

Yeah, I'm Jane Foster. Who are you?

I haven't been introduced to Loki, though I know of him. Same for Tony Stark. I do know Thor and Pepper, yes. The last time I was here, we shared her apartment.

Well, technically, I didn't leave. More like I left the city and returned to the ship for a nap, I believe. A nap that lasted a few months.

I'm sorry.

[ he finds those pods exceptionally frightening. waking up in one once was difficult enough. ;; ]

Please don't believe whatever you've been told. Unless you're from the future like everyone one else. The kid doesn't need any more hostilities.

About five, give or take a week or two. I'm pretty sure that officially qualifies as hibernation.

[He's still beaming. Some of that is relief, not just that she's here and awake and happy, but also because she's apparently not mad that he broke his promise.]

I can meet you anywhere. Pepper's apartment building? The hospital or the Vault?

[And the view tilts crazily as he leaps off the roof of his house and lands with a noisy thud and a cloud of sawdust from the wood he's been shaving and hammering.]

Now I'm not sure whether we should invite your Darcy to one of Tony's parties when we all get back, or make sure they never meet.

[The beaming may have passed, but there's a lingering lightness to Pepper that says that, even just little bit, some of the spooled tension of life on Verdana has eased.]

Thor's patching up a place. He's got a somewhat, um, complicated roommate I'll let him tell you about. The second bedroom at my apartment is still free, although there's a couple of Tony's projects in it. So, no need for the Flop unless you want it. They're forecasting one of the chemical fogs again, and I was planning to gather people at the apartment for it anyway, if you want to join.
