Hmm. Well, I am definitely mortal. The only spirits on my world are those of the Fade - some of whom are quite evil.

I did meet a Spirit of a Forest once, but she gave up her life to free others from a curse.

I am Elissa. From your voice, I assume that you are a good spirit and not a Fade demon, but Fade demons can be tricksters. Look for me, sometime? Let us test this face-to-face rather than over the box.

What are they??

They are malicious spirits from the Fade that have the power to possess objects or people. The Fade is a world of dreams where men travel when they sleep - all except the Dwarven people who do not. Mages can pass through the veil into the Fade without sleeping.

You look quite young as well as upside-down. What do you know? Meeting spirits in my homeland apparently helps to meet them here as well ... though none of those in Ferelden were invisible.

I'm older than I look! And I think all spirits from my home were visible to everyone a very long time ago, but I don't know if that's because everyone was more open to belief, or something else.

Alas, I am not truly older than I look and that often causes people to underestimate me. Does the same happen to you?

I imagine that it would be very hard not to be seen, so I am glad that I am one who can.

The few spirits I met at home were all centuries older than me at the very least, so I am considered a baby to most. [ he... sounds slightly frustrated by that. ] I avoided them at home for the most part though, so there wasn't much opportunity to be underestimated.

It isn't so hard to be unseen. The animals always have seen me! It's harder to be seen by people, I think.

Animals can be dear and loyal friends, tis true. They are able to sense much that humans cannot.

If what I am told is true, I shall be helping to build a house in the wilderness soon. Perhaps you might pay a visit when I am at the site.
