[Koz can't do much with the storm going on so he's going to make some conversation with the people at large here.]

While I'm aware that english, or at least a variation on it, is the language most used here I'm curious what other ones people know or are more comfortable with at the very least. I'm familiar with quite a few so if there's one you'd prefer speaking in I'm more than willing to oblige.

A language barrier shouldn't be a reason for us to be unable to work together and if anyone wishes to learn a language I'm more than willing to teach.

I'm also wondering if anyone skilled with a sword could use a sparring partner, I seem to be short one.

Maybe so. But no matter how different circumstances may be, people often remain the same. So how different could our worlds, as a result, really be?

There aren't many other shapeshifters around, it's a pleasure to find another one. Do you spend much time in other shapes, or only at need? Does it affect your mind at all, or do you remain cognizant of yourself and what you're doing?

Ah, well, where I was from only those that believed in me could see me! Unfortunately, that rule still applies here so for most I'm invisible!

I spend as much time as I want to in them, as necessity or the sheer joy of it. Some things become easier or more difficult but I am very much so still who I am. The shape or nature of a body doesn't change that someone is a person, bodies change all the time.

[he frowns.]

That seems a bit... dangerous, and different from how I'm used to it. Belief changes things, and one has to expressly deny something for it to go unseen.

Very true, Commander Sheppard may know a bit more if you're looking to build things.

That, I think, is a matter of how many similarities someone can see. Things repeat in different places and times, and recognizing the things people have in common and accepting the differences and not arguing over them is... well it's idealistic but a bit of wistful thinking for long enough can change things if it catches on.

If it's been spoken on the european continent in the past... ten thousand years it's safe to assume I know it. The same holds true for most of north american continent and I speak a good deal of the semitic languages from Akkadian onwards.

[He pauses for a moment.]

I also speak every language of the animal kingdom.

Though I read and write far fewer than I speak.

That has not always been the case, in my experience. Werewolves have to work to earn their minds back, in wolf form, on my version of Earth. So I thought it best to ask rather than to assume. So you do have wolf form, then, if you speak the language?

Of course, any of the various different subspecies of Canis lupus to be perfectly honest. I am however, partial to the dire wolf for general purposes.

Oh, there are plenty of arguments to be made, if one wants. The trick I think is knowing which are and aren't worth the effort of focusing on.

I agree, it's often a harder thing to decide than it seems. Some battles force themselves on you whether you want to fight them or not.

Well, if you ever want for a hunting partner, I'm out in the mountains or the forests most evenings. And I am a bit hopeful about this wolf language.

[It's one of those 'go big or go home' sort of things, he usually does it for intimidation.]

Feel free to come by whenever you wish, I've begun setting up residence in the wood between the two cities. I'm sure you'll be able to find the place.
