Hello. I hope everyone has been well and able to acclimate to all the changes upon our return to this point in time. I seem to have gotten my bearings now...though it was a little difficult, especially in light of the fact someone was apparently making decisions for me in this other version of the present.

However, there is something I'm looking into. Right now my home is still at the Flop, but I'm no longer...comfortable, staying there for the indeterminate future. It isn't the same as it was before, and I'm getting the sense I might have worn out my welcome.

I was wondering if anyone I've already made acquaintance with would be willing to let me move in, if they have the room for it. I can help pay for lodging; I have steady employment here. Not much money, but enough.

I'm glad to hear it, Mulan! So what have you been doing with yourself since we all came back to find things different?

Trying to re-learn my way around, really. Seeing where those I know have ended up. Between that and my new duties it keeps me busy, but pleasantly so. I never really know what to do with myself when I have idle time anyway.

Same here! I love to keep busy with planning and organizing things. Being bored is no fun.

No, it really isn't. Especially when you're used to having things that need doing. I sometimes have a vague feeling of guilt when I find myself unoccupied, even if I know there's no reason for it.

Well I'm sure you'll find things to keep you occupied around here. The city's bustling most days.

I've noticed. It was different before, in the Old City. More...like what I was used to.

I grew up on a farm, you know.

Did you? I grew up in a city. A bigger city than this one. Did you enjoy life on the farm?

I did. It was just me and my parents then. And my grandmother.

My Granny didn't live with us, but we visited often enough. What kind of things did you guys grow on the farm?

Rice mostly. And we raised chickens. You know, things we needed to survive.

There wasn't much trade. It was mostly about supporting ourselves. Besides, my father was injured during his time in the army, and I...well I helped out as best I could. But traditionally, such work is done by boys. And my father had no sons.

Well in the absence of sons, you got the chance to show what you could do, right?

Well...eventually, I did, yes.

Sounds like there's a story there. Maybe you can tell me sometime.

Perhaps. It depends on how much time you have, whenever that moment comes.

Oh, I'm sure we'll both find the time at some point. It'll be nice to get to know one another.
