Video: Open: Friday, Week 37 - MAGIC USERS AHOY!

I seek mages, witches, or any who can wield the power of magic to aid me in several quests. If you do not wish to reveal your abilities to the world at large, please send me a private message. I shall keep your confidence.

I have several herbs from my world. Tis my hope that someone skilled in plants might be able to find seeds upon them in order to grow them here.

I have several medicinal potions and poultices from my world that use the herbs for the main ingredient. I also seek someone who can replenish my supply, if the herbs can be grown.

Thirdly, I seek someone skilled in enchantments or runes or amulets who might be able to craft something to ward off mental attacks.

I have few valuables upon my person, but am quite willing to barter services for any who can aid me.

You ask quite a lot, miss, especially knowing there are those that would wish to keep their skills secret.

That said, given the presence of seeds in the samples you have, I believe I could address all of your concerns.

In my homeland, those with magic were feared by many and rounded up by the Chantry to be schooled in what amounted to little more than a prison. I understand those who might not want to reveal their powers to the world at large.

How shall I get the elfroot to you? Currently, I am in the forests between the two cities.

I'm heading back to Poseidon from the West as is. I'll be cutting through that area on my way.

[He might have to ask Genesis to meet this woman though... but then the two of them are in each other's company so often that it wouldn't be difficult at all for Elissa to put two and two together. ]

If you give me a few more specifics I can send an owl to obtain the elfroot from you. [And she need never know it's him.]

[Elissa has been around enough magic that she doesn't really react much at all to the thought of an owl coming to get the elfroot. In fact, she assumes that it will probably be this man transformed into the bird since she has seen Morrigan become other creatures and she has seen Kozmotis do the same.]

We are building a home, so if you listen for the sound of falling trees or hammering, and lots of cursing from my voice, we can likely be easily found.

How will I know this owl from another?

My guard is building a home and I shall be allowed to remain, if I build my own room. I am... unused to cities such as Poseidon. I come from a simpler time and place - All of the rushing around here disquiets me.

As for owls - yes. I have seen such... when the owl is not truly an owl.

Yeah I guess the city is a bit much when you're not used to it. You think the people here rush you should see the cities when I come from. [He rolls his eyes a little. Really he's amazed there isn't a starbucks or something equivalent here.]

Not truly an owl? Shapeshifters are a common thing where you're from?

Not common, no, but I did have the good fortune to befriend a shapeshifter in my home world. I came to feel she was a sister.

I have already encountered one in Verdana as well, so it is less uncommon than you might think.

Huh... [And now for the part where he lies through his teeth. It's always so much easier when he can just skate around the truth.]

Well I hate to disappoint you but when I said I'd send an owl I... kinda meant that's what I'd do.

I shall pack the elfroot and the poultice accordingly. I believe I have a small leather purse that will prove useful. Shall I send you my most potent sample of the poultice or the one for more generalized use?

I should be able to make do with the basic one and tweak it to make it stronger myself, especially if I know going into it that it's not as potent as it gets.

Very well, I shall keep watch for your owl. Please keep in mind that my supply of elfroot is finite unless I can find a way to grow more. Tis my hope that it can be done for I would like to do my part to help others.
