Greetings, all.

I seek mages, witches, or any who can wield the power of magic to aid me in several quests. If you do not wish to reveal your abilities to the world at large, please send me a private message. I shall keep your confidence.

I have several herbs from my world. Tis my hope that someone skilled in plants might be able to find seeds upon them in order to grow them here.

I have several medicinal potions and poultices from my world that use the herbs for the main ingredient. I also seek someone who can replenish my supply, if the herbs can be grown.

Thirdly, I seek someone skilled in enchantments or runes or amulets who might be able to craft something to ward off mental attacks.

I have few valuables upon my person, but am quite willing to barter services for any who can aid me.

I went to you because you were frightened after your nightmare. I wanted to help you and you repaid me with . . . that.

For that, I am sorry. I sincerely was not myself. Tis my hope that we may be able to get past this horrible beginning and start anew. That is why I am seeking someone to make an amulet to protect me from further mental attacks. I do *not* want this happening again.

Mental attack? What does that mean, the nightmare made you do it?

No. Something or someone else did. There are others - at least one. Possibly more that were similarly compelled to harm those of us in that time and place. Tis difficult for people to know that of me as I was so new to the group, but another who harmed Haruka was known to her and was her friend. She knew he was acting strangely.

If only my hound had made it here with me, he would have sensed something wrong, but I have no one else from my homeland who knows me.

I have seen a situation before where a hypnotic trigger was used to induce violence in controlled bursts. Could something like that have happened to you?

I truly do not know. I felt as if I was making my own decisions until I snapped free of it upon sending Thor through a tentacled rift. He reminds me very much of someone I once knew and, before he disappeared, I realized what I had done and tried to aid him. After that, I was in a bit of shock at my earlier actions. I made my confession by communications device and placed myself at the mercy of those who were left.

Do you remember if he said anything to you just before you realized what was happening?

He... He called me 'Lady Elissa' as I used to hear back home. I remember struggling after that, everything confused... I told him he had to die and, almost hurt, he asked 'What did I do?'

I had no answer to give him.

You may want to get your . . . watcher to take you to the hospital for some scans as well, then. The girl at home who had the hypnotic triggers -- it required a spoken phrase to trigger and a spoken phrase to stop. An amulet might not help unless it rendered you incapable of hearing anything.

Who or what is the hospital? If this shall help people to be more trustful of me again, then I shall do it.

Oh. Right. It's a place in the city where trained healers can examine your brain and make sure it hasn't been altered.

[The bit about having her *brain* examined gave Elissa pause, but perhaps Inara didn't mean they would actually cut into her skull. Nevertheless, it made the Warden frown.]

Ah, an infirmary. Do you know where it is located? I have not spent much time in the city aside from the market district. Currently, I am in the woods.

I haven't found it yet, but I'm still in the process of figuring out the layout of the city. Your guardian may know.

I shall ask him. In the meantime, if you discover its location, will you send it to me in a message? Anything that I can do to ease the minds of those who suffered at my hand will be done.

Did you get your things from Haruka? And take the ruby as well?

I didn't need the ruby - despite appearances, I'm not meant to accumulate personal wealth - but I've received my other items. You can ask her for the ruby back if you'd like.

I thought perhaps you could have it made into another piece of jewelry. Red would suit you, I am quite certain.

Thank you, Elissa. What I do have belongs to my employer. It's probably scandalous enough that I sold some of it to buy shoes.

My guard has provided me with new clothing and shoes fit for the forest. It will be good to wear something other than armor when trying to build a house.

Would something other than the ruby be better? Something practical or...

It won't change what happened. Make sure that you're better. Prevention of violence is in itself a gift.
