Video: Open: Friday, Week 37 - MAGIC USERS AHOY!
[There is greenery behind Elissa - too much of it for her to be in any populated area. Logic dictates that she must be in one of the forests or at least a heavily forested area.]
Greetings, all.
I seek mages, witches, or any who can wield the power of magic to aid me in several quests. If you do not wish to reveal your abilities to the world at large, please send me a private message. I shall keep your confidence.
I have several herbs from my world. Tis my hope that someone skilled in plants might be able to find seeds upon them in order to grow them here.
I have several medicinal potions and poultices from my world that use the herbs for the main ingredient. I also seek someone who can replenish my supply, if the herbs can be grown.
Thirdly, I seek someone skilled in enchantments or runes or amulets who might be able to craft something to ward off mental attacks.
I have few valuables upon my person, but am quite willing to barter services for any who can aid me.

[Let's razzle and dazzle 'em, Lanfear.]
Re: [Video--Locked]
Is that what you meant?
[Video--Locked--->> Action]
[Next to the pile of rocks, a vertical slash of light appears, a line that slices neatly through a tree, sharper than any razor. And then it rotates, and a horizontal gateway appears, a simple bedroom visible through the portal for an instant as Lanfear steps out.]
Good day, Lady Cousland.
Re: [Video--Locked--->> Action]
Now *that* is a decidedly useful ability. I find myself envious.
[She stands near to an old, fallen log near the pine bough shelter, a fire merrily crackling nearby with a pair of rabbits upon a spit.]
Greetings to you. I fear I do not yet know your name?
[Action]
[Lanfear can't help but be a little bit smug at that, but she tries hard not to gloat too much.]
Selene. I am called Selene. Have you been...confined to living out here? Or is this by choice?
Re: [Action]
As to your question, I suppose tis a bit of both. The man appointed as my guard wishes to build a home here and I am not comfortable with being in the city until I know I will not lose control of myself again. Also, I am not used to such things as they have in Poseidon. I come from a simpler time.
I confess that I dislike feeling an idiot for not knowing how some things work and incorrectly doing things. Perhaps that makes me arrogant. I care not.
[Action]
[Arms wide, with an open smile on her face Lanfear steps closer.]
As for your...forgive me...ignorance, that is something that could be learned with time and tutelage. Most things are really not so complex, when you break them down to their baser elements. In my world, things are not quite the same as Poseidon, but I manage well enough. [Admittedly, it's a different swing, as the Age of Legends...such a quaint name...was far more advanced than even Poseidon.]
[Action]
Would you like to sit or does this working require that you stand? I am sorry that I have no better seating to offer you.
[Action]
Neither. Just give me your hands, Lady Cousland. I need to Delve you, a simple process. And then I can make your amulet. Or would you prefer a bracelet or a ring?
[Action]
I have this - which offers other sorts of protections, so... perhaps a ring? I am unsure how well a bracelet would work beneath my armor, though that, too, is a nice idea. Whichever you think works best, Lady Selene.
[The young woman offers out her hands, rough from swordplay and now building. There are light bandages wrapped about her palms over a poultice to soothe her new blisters.]
[Action]
Would you like me to take care of those as well?
[Healing. Another small thing these...barbarians...hadn't come close to mastering yet.
Taking Elissa's hands in hers, the Chosen looks down at the woman and stretches to take Saidar. Life floods through her as she touches the Power, filling her with joy and strength, a torrent of energy invisible to anyone in this world. A pity, really, that these people would never know it's embrace, the one bit of genuine sympathy she had for them.
With that, though, she Delved. Flows of Spirit wormed into Elissa's flesh, imperceptible save for a faint tingle, and probed her pathways. Lanfear was no Graendal, no master of the human mind nor was she a healer anywhere near Semirhage's skill, but she was quite the master of Wards. All she needed was to fit this weave snugly to the ring she'd craft and it would keep out any unwanted mental influence.
Well...all save her own, of course. Without much effort at all, she sets a small psychic "hook" inside Elissa. An anchor for Compulsion that she could use should the woman prove resistant to her charms or requests. Nothing worth mentioning, though.
Squeezing gently, Lanfear channeled a second time. Healing now. Elissa might feel a shock of cold and a sudden hunger, the need to be fed. Such healings always took their toll on the human body, drawing strength from the healed, not the healer but anything short of death could be healed with the proper application.]
There. All done.
Re: [Action]
She stands perfectly still as Lanfear works her magic, expression curious, and voice silent. Even before the healing is done, there is a gurgle of protest from the Warden's stomach.]
So quickly?
[Again, Elissa is impressed by the woman's power.]
A friend made inquiries as to obtaining such a thing for others - so we would have no need to fear such an attack again. However, I told her that I knew not how much power it would take, so could not make promises. Would you be willing to do this for others, Lady Selene?
[Action]
[And waving a hand airily, Lanfear smiles at the second request.]
I suppose I could...
[But...for what price...she leaves unvoiced]
How many others?
Re: [Action]
Everyone from the ship. Haruka has very high hopes, I fear. Speak with her, if you like. I selfishly admit that, at the moment, the only care I have is for myself.
Do you have need of gold for the crafting? Tis not very valuable here, but could be used to make a ring.
[Action]
[Shaking her head, Lanfear laughs lightly.]
No, no. A simple stone band is best, I find. It works better than metal, truthfully.
[Action]
[She looked at her fingers and then turned her hands to eye the now useless bandages.]
Would you stay for some rabbit? Or must you take your leave?
[Elissa warmly laughs, offering Lanfear a smile.]
If I had talent for magic, I would ask to learn that portal in a heartbeat. Such a thing must be quite convenient.
[Action]
[There's a sly smile in return]
Unfortunately, you do lack the spark necessary to channel. I felt that in my Delving as well. Along with quite a few other things.
[Like...oh...Taint?]
[Action]
Lady Selene, you have my gratitude.
[Action]
Of course. I'm just trying to help. I'll have your ring ready this evening, and I'll send you a message when it's ready.
[Another silver slash appears in the air, opening into the same bedroom as before. Stepping through, she turns and calls back]
Good day to you, Lady Cousland.
