[Video: Thursday, Week 48] The most frightening of things

[There are few things more dangerous than a bored twelve year old. Unfortunately, that's what Verdana has right now.]

Okay, this is getting bad. So I'm just gonna ask.

Does anyone have a lot of heavy stuff they need moved around? I am seriously that bored.

Or bad guys to beat up. If you need bad guys beaten up Princess Powerful is all over that! Bad guys would be way better.

Bruiser don't sound so bad to me, but then, I'm used to my agents and those boys love their goofy nicknames.

Do your thing, kiddo. Considering I go by the Flying Squirrel...

I was briefly confused, yes.

Sounds right to me, short stack.

[Kit is a constantly spewing fountain of nicknames. She can't help it.]

You know, like when you get two pancakes instead of three 'cus you're not that hungry? At least, I've heard this is a thing people do... And I'm five-six, so it's not like I get a lot of chances at short jokes.

Me, I get three because keepin' the world safe from evil all night is hungry work, and you never know when you'll get to break for a sandwich counter.

And the looks you get if you try and take a snack break in costume... Though sometimes people just want autographs. The boss had to call me from a drugstore once, and people are still talkin' about it.

Costumes are great. More when people get used to you, though. I think the boss's first headline was "Masked lunatic foils bank robbery."

Yeah, you really don't get the right vibe. With a mask and a silly hat, everyone knows you're here to fight injustice. Run in in, say, your chauffeur's uniform, and you'll get no respect. ...Or, y'know, anonymity.

Superhero regis--wow. I thought it was bad when the intelligence services started scraping up everyone's secret identities to recruit us.

I'll say. I didn't have to let my Ma in on the deal until after the kid was born and we needed to explain why all the babysitting was necessary.

Retirement just hasn't been an option. We always figured we'd get out of the game before now, but they need every mask, even back on the homefront. ...Besides, if we had to be a spunky lady reporter and an idle millionaire again, we'd be too crabby for good parenting. So lucky Ma and the butler could help us out.

Well, sometimes they retire, too, if it makes you feel better. I guess it is just the same old game, and new generations playin' it. I once met my great-great granddaughter from the future, and she's in the same line of work. So.

You know, I didn't think to get one any of the times I was there. Mostly lived on hotdogs. The hotdog cart folks don't even blink at the costume in that city, and we were usually in a hurry.
