[Kara's had plenty to drink. Which is probably not the best time to do a broadcast. But that's just how she rolls.]
Beware of spilling secrets to cats who can write. It will bite you in the ass. We have a god in our midst, people. We should bow down to our betters and to their whims.
[She raises her mug, but then falters.]
I can't think of a toast. Give me a sec.
[Reaching forward, she switches to a private channel.]
Chell. I'm settled in and I want you to come and check out the new digs. You and me, girl. It can be our bachelor pad. We can take one more. Or two. Got any ideas who else you'd like to room with?

I don't understand.

I'll move in. I don't know who else to ask, though. You should probably handle that.
[Kara isn't totally sure who else she wants to ask but a couple of names come to mind.]
Maybe Diziet or Topher. Maybe.
[She starts heading in.]
I met Di... Diziet. [She stumbles over the name.] But not the other. Human?

[Kara's not too far away, it takes less than a minute to get to where Chell is.]
[action]
When Chell meets Kara, she has a knapsack with her extra clothes, soap, comb, etc., and her Companion Cube, which is gray and white with little pinks hearts on each side. It's about the size of a step stool, or tiny ottoman.
The Companion Cube helped her when she needed it. It's her friend.]
Kara.

[She hangs up on him, lets out a noise of frustration and tries to resist the urge to fling her comm device at the nearest wall.]

The cat brought you comfort, at a time when you needed it.
I saw your soul, Kara. It was painted in red and yellow and blue on a brick wall shrouded by mist -- do you remember? You are a Seer. I have no need of your confessions, and I didn't find you so that I could steal them away.
You're behaving like a child.
[locked - some time later]
You saw my soul? That's meant to make me feel all warm and fuzzy inside? You think you know what I am? The hell you do.
It's times like this when you really do seem like a god, Loki. The kind that frak mortals over because they're selfish little shits who always want to get their own way.
[She chuckles mirthlessly.]
You think I'm behaving like a child? How about you come and face me like a fraking man-god instead of hiding behind your comm device or animal form.
[action]
And what virtue is there in this? We may say the same words at a distance.
[action]
Because I can't do that at a distance.
[action]
[action]
Now that she's done it, she's kinda lost as to what to do or say next. Better to put it on him.]
Well. Come on, say something.
[action]
He touches his cheek. ]
I hurt you.
[ To admit it aloud, for the first time. ]
[action]
[She's let him see her with her guard down. That's the scariest part. She never lets people in unless they've earned it and are invited, damn it.]
You tricked me. And I know that it's your big thing or whatever, but I thought-
[What has she thought? That he might treat her or see her differently? What a crock. What a fool she's been. She doesn't finish her thought out loud, just bites down hard on her bottom lip, glaring at him.]
[action]
[ He is stung, hurt. Almost blindly so. ]
[action]
Maybe it did. But you know what? It would've meant more if it had been you who'd tried.
[action]
[ He dismisses that without considering it. Who would want comfort from him? From Loki. ]
[action]
[He's probably right, but it didn't happen so it can't be proven.]
You took the easy way out.
[action]
[action]
[Now she wants to laugh. At herself. At the situation. What is it about this guy that rattles her cage so much.]
I'd say I'm sorry I hit you. But I'm not.
[action]
Cats, contrary to what you may believe, don't know how to lie.
[ And he turns away, summoning shadows, ready to teleport away. ]
[action]
By the time Kara's figured out what she's gonna say in return, he's already slipped away. Having named his cat-form Shadow seems so frakking fitting now.]

If someone claimed to be a god, but was really only an advanced alien. How frak would you be able to prove it?
no subject
Science isn't just a body of knowledge, it's the method by which new knowledge is created. When you encounter the mysterious and the unknown is when you need science most.
To claim that something is a god is to dismiss it as inexplicable and beyond the laws of the universe. You prove otherwise the same way you prove anything. Subject it to scientific experimentation.
Private (hiatus, yeah, but couldn't resist.)

And all things show it;
I thought so once-
But now I know it."
A bit on the nose, but then the majority of toasts are.
