1st cup ☂ video
[ the feed comes on, hello everyone. Ianto looks pretty impassive, despite what he's been reading over the last few days since waking up in somewhere that was very clearly not Cardiff. ]
My name is Ianto Jones. I understand that this is obviously not Cardiff, and that there is obviously some sort of illness going around. Can't say I appreciate the unexpected trip, or the not so great timing of the Rift...
If there is a Jack Harkness or a Gwen Cooper about, or if anyone has seen or heard anyone by these names - one's a man in a big flashy coat, almost as flash as the man himself, the other is a Welshwoman, I would appreciate hearing of it.
Thank you for the help, I understand this can't be a good time to ask - but anything else about this place that anyone can tell me, or what is going on, I would also be grateful.
[ a solemn nod and then he's gone. ]

Ianto! Oh my god, it's you!
audio
Tosh? You're here?
[ how? ]

[ a pause. ] Where are you now now?
audio
I'm...[Well, shit. She was really trying to avoid mentioning her illness, hence the lack of video.] I'm sort of in hospital.
audio
What are you doing in a hospital?
audio
I'm just a bit under the weather right now, that's all. [You know, just a minor case of the Black Death.]

[She's being deliberately obtuse. Sorry, Ianto.]

[ oh. oh. Tosh you are not allowed to do this, not know. Not when he just got here, not when you're alive when you weren't. ]
I'm coming, alright? Just. Stay where you are.

I'm in room [insert room number here. and possibly directions.].

[ and he dashes off to the location given. ]

It's so good to see you, even if you do have horrible timing.

And usually I'm so good at being punctual, too.
[ a beat. ]
It's good to see you Tosh. Really good. [ things have been so different since then. ]

Do you need a place to stay? I've got an extra bedroom in my flat - not that I'm using my own room right now, obviously.
no subject
I would appreciate that. [ of course being in her house without her being in it - she has to come back. She will, wont she? Instead, he adds quickly: ] I could take care of things while you're here.

[Tosh frowns a little, looking down at her blankets.] I don't know how much longer I'll be in hospital. I've still got awhile, I think.
Video:
[Pepper is looking as pale as only a redhead fresh from a case of the Black Death can look, but she's as poised and polished as she can be all the same. That she's also smiling helps take some of the edge off.]
I'm afraid neither of those names has been around here, although the description of Mr. Harkness reminds me a lot of someone I know, but my name is Pepper Potts and I'd be happy to help you get acclimated to life on Verdana.
We're unfortunately not on Earth any more.
Video:
Thanks. He's a bit hard to miss, Jack. Flirts with everything. Man, women, humanoid... alien. Suppose if he were here, he would have made himself known by now. [ okay so no Jack or Gwen... ]
Video:
Yes -- it's actually an entire planet that may or may not be in our galaxy, and is some unknown point in the future from where I'm from -- 2012, to be exact. We've all been brought here in stasis on board the crashed ship you'd have woken up on, although it's... questionable... whether this was our intended destination or not.
Video:
Not the weirdest thing that's happened to me. How long have you been here, if I might ask?
Re: Video:
Video:
Only what I read of it. Which is not much, I'm afraid.
Video:
We're unfortunately short on ultimate solutions at this point, although work is progressing. But what we're looking at is a bioengineered strain of the Black Plague that contains the DNA for a virus inside it. Don't ask me how -- I just manage scientists sometimes, I'm not one myself.
So, if you catch the plague and if you recover from it, either from antibiotic treatment or because you're lucky, then you get to deal with a second infection, caused by the virus that's escaped from the dead plague germs. It's nasty, it's gone epidemic, and the city is getting a little... stretched.
Video:
Thanks for the heads up.
Video:
Great tourist destination, basically.
Video:
If it's not half of Cardiff being blown up, or all children freezing in place at once, it's another thing.

[Pepper, in her tenure on Verdana, has grown increasingly mistrustful of coincidence, when it comes to the different realities coughing people up onto the planet.]
