[ For anyone who happens to believe in old Greek spirits - specifically the ones called Anemoi - they might catch a glimpse of a bright, golden eye peering out of a painfully androgynous face and down at the recording device. Their skin is pale, and their hair a dark, midnight blue. They look small - almost fae-like - and are dressed in bright yellow, and black.

For anyone who doesn't happen to believe in obscure Greek gods, they will just see some nice scenery. Or as nice as a forest with a backdrop of a crashed alien ship can be, at least. ]


I've never gotten to use one of these before..! I wonder if anyone can hear me?

Kind of like a winter shepherd but not really.
The seasonal spirits have more specific/specialized and therefore more powerful abilities.
I just shepherd the winds to keep the climate in check
And make sure storms don't go out of control
And I can do mild atmospheric manipulation
Things like that

I've never had someone believe in me before
You would have to believe specifically in the Anemoi
Which is me.

The anemoi are the wind deities of greek myth.
There are north/south/east/west
And the anemoi thuellai are nw/sw/ne/se
The thuellai are violent and kind of mean though.
Anyway the greek myth says the winds all have physical/human forms
But that isn't true
The winds are just winds.
They have personalities though!!
Anyway I am not the winds
Just their shepherd!!
I make sure they don't go crazy and also keep the climate under control.
So I am based on the Anemoi myth
But I am not actually the Anemoi
Since that would mean I was the wind itself
Which I'm not.

So it's kind of like how Jack shepherds in winter
I just shepherd around the winds.

[It takes Todd a few minutes to reply, mostly because he's trying to make sense of the wall of text there. He's not the smartest kid on the block, really.]

huh. whatre the winds like then? are they the same here as on earth?

The winds here don't have names
And they are opposite.
Like north brings winter on earth
And south brings summer
But it's the other way around here.
They also don't have really distinctive personalities
Like the ones at home you can tell apart really easily.
Here it's much harder.

[ having not expected to actually be seen, Akito blushes and ducks his head out of sight. ]

Nothing happened to it... I just was wearing this for as long as I can remember, so I find it more comfortable.

[Todd cranes his neck, as if by changing his angle he can see Akito again.]

I mean, hey, whatever floats yer boat, but still. I like havin' two eyes that work.

[ Akito comes back into view, though he has his eye patch off - wrapped around his wrist now, and he picks at it. The eye that was covered is more brightly golden, and the iris is more feline-esque. ]

I can see fine with it on or off. It just is more comfortable when I have it on for some reason.

[Todd peers at it curiously.]

Well, that's pretty cool. Can you see through other stuff, too? Is it like some kinda x-ray eye?

Ah... Um.. No... I can't see through the eye-patch. It just doesn't bother me to see with only one eye.

Oh, right, okay.

[That's a lot more boring. Todd settles back in the camera view, now.]

So you're new, right? Just came outa that ship back there?

Anybody showed you around yet? Or got you down to the city? Or I guess-- if you're like Jack, it don't really matter where you are, huh? You met Jack yet?

[In the face of a shy sort of response, Todd is all prodding. Sorry, Akito.]

The Winds showed me where the major landmarks are, but I haven't visited the city yet. [ he perks up slightly at the mention of Jack. ] ..Un! Jack Frost, ne? He ran into me a little while ago.

Good. Guess he handled all the... don't say stupid stuff on the network, don't go near the dome place, and look out for dinosaurs stuff, then?

[Because Todd isn't so good at that stuff. It's boring and repetitive.]

The.. The people that are flying around outside that dome... Are they patrolling to keep us away? And if so...

[ a pause as it all starts to click. he's always been quick to pick up on tactics - particularly military ones. ]

They scan this network to keep an eye on us, and make sure we aren't planning to attack them? Something like that?

Yeah, they're not very nice at all. So somethin' like that. And there's monsters around, but I guess if you're invisible, you're probably safe from all that. Just careful about the network stuff, I guess.
