[ For anyone who happens to believe in old Greek spirits - specifically the ones called Anemoi - they might catch a glimpse of a bright, golden eye peering out of a painfully androgynous face and down at the recording device. Their skin is pale, and their hair a dark, midnight blue. They look small - almost fae-like - and are dressed in bright yellow, and black.

For anyone who doesn't happen to believe in obscure Greek gods, they will just see some nice scenery. Or as nice as a forest with a backdrop of a crashed alien ship can be, at least. ]


I've never gotten to use one of these before..! I wonder if anyone can hear me?


[ he fiddles with the settings, clearly entertained by this, until he manages to change it to text format. ]

Or i guess a better question is what planet is this?

[ he doesn't actually expect a reply, so he only half pays attention to the device as he starts exploring. he keeps the device recording as he flies, giving any viewers some interesting, dizzying views of forests and mountains. ]

Ah? [ Sigyn squints through the camera, hair slipping from her shoulders as she leans back when the lighting's glint upon the surface of her communications device almost blinds her. ] Aye, we hear you, Strange Sir. What be your name?

[ he drops a few metres in surprise, but catches himself on a breeze quick enough to fly right back up to where he was. ]

I'm Akito.

Who are you?

[ the ones who can see him are only other immortals and spirits, and so he is suitably nervous - after that one incident with a dryad years ago, he prefers to be cautious. ]

[ SHe cocks her head to the side, eyes wide and curious. ]

[ There is silence. Sigyn nods. ] What do you know of me, Good Man Akito? To whom am I bound?

[ the title flusters him - he's not used to such formal language. it reminds him of something out of the movies the mortals watch. ]

You are a daughter of Freya, ne? That's what your surname means, I think... I've never met any gods before though. I've just run into minor spirits occasionally...

[ he fidgets as he realizes that this is the longest conversation he's had with someone who can speak back in... decades, at the very least. ]

Is that all you know of me? I am not mother, nor wife to any? Just daughter to Freya?

[ She keeps her tone level. ]

I haven't learned much about other spirits and deities... [ he wonders if his lack of knowledge is going to get him in trouble. ] I know most about the spirits based on myth, like Toothiana, the Easter Bunny, the Sandman, and Santa. But they're the Guardians, so all the spirits know about them.

Then Sigyn is not but daughter in your thoughts, aye? [ She's disappointed that she is not learning more, but she is happy to hear of someone familiar to Jack Frost. For, Jack had spoken of a Tooth Fairy as well. ] You are familiar with Jack Frost?

[it wasn't hard for Jack to realize that someone new was here. Someone who wasn't just another pod person but a spirit. The Wind was telling him that another Shepherd was here, though this was one of the Winds! Huh, Jack wasn't sure if he had ever heard of them. Most of the winds stayed with the seasonal spirits, however they weren't bound to them.

Perhaps they simply answered to more than one type of spirit, then. It wasn't unheard of for the North Wind to not be around and it was usually the West or East Winds that carried him home in place of North. Jack never commanded the Winds, which is why they gave him rides when he simply asked.

It wasn't long before he saw the message on his phone and smiled a bit. Well, guess the wind was right! And it certainly wasn't long at all before he found the little spirit exploring Verdana. He came up behind the kid, hand in his pocket and basically flying backward.]

You're a long way from home, kiddo.

[ Akito can sense that there's someone else nearby - if they're on the Winds, then he's aware of it, even if he doesn't know these particular Winds all too well just yet. He isn't sure the who or the what, but he knows that they're there and so their proximity isn't surprising to him. It's worrying, of course, since most spirits he's met tend to not... really like him.

It's the fact that he's spoken to that startles him. In a way that is friendly as opposed to hostile.

He drops a good few metres in his surprise, hitting a tree branch with a squeak before latching back onto the still-unfamiliar Wind. ]

Who are you?

[ It's better to be cautious, even if this one seems friendly and is liked by the Winds. ]

[He couldn't help the laugh as his crook of his staff went cleaning around the kid's waist (geez, he was small!) and helped him back up onto the Wind.]

Jack Frost. And you, I here, are Anemoi. Though I doubt that's your only name. Got one you prefer or is it just Anemoi?

[Action]

[ Akito is momentarily frightened when the boy's staff grabs him, and he clings to the Wind in relief once he's released despite knowing for sure that the other spirit isn't hostile. When he learns his name, Akito nearly falls clear out of the sky again in shock. Instead, his feet simply float upwards until he's laying horizontal on the wind, staring at Jack in disbelief. ]

Jack Frost? The Jack Frost? Guardian of Joy, and all things fun?

[ He'll answer your question in a minute, Jack - right now he's too mindblown. ]

[He sort of surprised himself as this kid greets him rather differently than most spirits. The Jack Frost? G-...wait.]

...how'd you know I was a Guardian?

You've been a Guardian since before I was even born.

I've only been a Guardian, officially anyway, like... a week. Tops.

[ Akito stares at him intently, wondering if maybe this was one of his famous pranks? If so, it isn't very funny. ]

...But you've been one for over eighty years.

[He can't see the guy yet, but he might get there. He got there with Jack, anyway.]

Kind of like a winter shepherd but not really.
The seasonal spirits have more specific/specialized and therefore more powerful abilities.
I just shepherd the winds to keep the climate in check
And make sure storms don't go out of control
And I can do mild atmospheric manipulation
Things like that

You would have to believe specifically in the Anemoi
Which is me.

The anemoi are the wind deities of greek myth.
There are north/south/east/west
And the anemoi thuellai are nw/sw/ne/se
The thuellai are violent and kind of mean though.
Anyway the greek myth says the winds all have physical/human forms
But that isn't true
The winds are just winds.
They have personalities though!!
Anyway I am not the winds
Just their shepherd!!
I make sure they don't go crazy and also keep the climate under control.
So I am based on the Anemoi myth
But I am not actually the Anemoi
Since that would mean I was the wind itself
Which I'm not.

So it's kind of like how Jack shepherds in winter
I just shepherd around the winds.
