[What begins as merely trying to catch a meteor on record for his own personal interest and for various friends rather quickly became something else entirely. And Lyall spent a few minutes afterwards figuring out how to upload what he caught on his device onto the network.
So everyone gets a nice video of the second two thirds of that falling object's trajectory, and a couple seconds of the beginnings of a warm glow on the horizon. Then they get Lyall coming on the screen right after. He's out in the more local woods, dressed only in his coat, and looking a little bit rumpled, for once. His voice, however, is a bit deadpan as he speaks to the practical and pointedly doesn't mention the bit about the thing from space.]
I believe there may be a fire starting in the western forest. If there are still Authorities monitoring this channel, someone may wish to be dispatched to contain it, unless there isn't much risk of it spreading too far.

[Okay, the whole fire thing is probably bad, but Belle clearly finds things falling from the sky exciting.]
[And it'd take him into the daylight to get there, which means the fire would actually be a problem. Sigh.]
[She pauses, then frowns, a hint of concern darkening her eyes.]
Are there any villages between here and there, do you know?
[video] the next morning because she was sleeping
[Video] and he's still up cuz he was expecting that X3

It looks like there will be a few people heading out to have a look of their own, though I'm not entirely sure when, or exactly who.
[And what better medic than Nurse Chapel?]
I'd better see who's going and if I can tag along with them.
Do let me know how it goes?

[And Lyall is just used to it, anyhow, so he certainly isn't taking any offense.]

[He looks amused. Alpha, Beta, and Gamma, huh? He has to wonder which is which, and whether he would be awake for the "Beta" shift.]
And why did you decide to pick those names for them? Is the Greek common for nomenclature?
[She looks amused right back.]
Thinking our shifts were named after you guys?

[Now he's definitely joking a bit.]

And now I think I've kept you awake long enough, so I'll leave you to rest.
[He knows falling stars, and he's even heard of their coming to earth, but he's too Asgardian not to suspect some visitor or curse first.]
I really don't know. It may have been a vessel or satellite of some sort. There were both available, in Verdana's past, and some may still be in orbit for all we know. Or it could merely be a meteorite that crashed in a particularly fiery fashion.
I would investigate, but it would take me all night and part of the day to reach it, and I'm not good for much during the day.

Much less time by air, I suspect. I can put my brother on it.
[And perhaps get a ride. He's been wanting to do that.]
no subject
Thor?
[That's the only brother pair he's aware of around here, and one of the people he knows of who can fly.]
Yes, do see if he's interested. I imagine finding the place won't be difficult, not with the fire that's started up.
no subject
[And then he'll have an in to finding out what's afoot. Bwahaha, etc.]

[And Lyall sounds approving about it, too. Here, Loki, have an older gentleman who thinks, despite your lack of an introduction, that you're apparently doing the right thing anyway. Even if the organization may or may not go through, since y'know, teenager.]
no subject
I suspect there'll be at least some general interest for such an event, but at least I can arrange for Thor.
no subject
[Well, he knows who it is, given he knows the name of Thor's brother, but he's a proper gentleman. He wants to be introduced, even if Loki is forced to do it himself.]
no subject
[He still hasn't decided what ought to be done with his patronymic, but he figures an outsider won't notice.]
Thank you.
no subject
[Someone else probably will, too, but he's curious of Loki here will, anyway.]
no subject
[Why would he ever miss a chance to be pedantic?]
no subject
Whatever you can manage will be fine, I'm sure. I'd best be heading back to the city, if I want to get there before dawn. I'm sure I'll see you about, Loki.

Good night, then, Loki.
[He tips his head, in place of his missing hat, then disconnects so he can see about getting changed back to wolf form for the run home.]

I don't know, I'm not sure if the Authorities are going to bother with this one. They're probably used to bits of debris falling from the sky. It's pretty common in the decades following a space battle.
Personally, I think a trip out to the crash site might be in order.

I imagine it will wind up happening, indeed. I've already already spoken with a boy making plans for just that, on behalf of his brother.
