I've heard about the collars that neutralize a person's magical abilities.
Do they still use those in this new Verdana?
If so, how do they react when used on a non-human?
Are they turned human too or are their abilities simply taken away?

They do still have them. I wore one for my first full moon back. As far as I can tell, it will simply cut you off from any non-human abilities, not change anything physically about you. It did not, for example, make my body temperature and breathing rate go up to that of a normal mortal, but it did take away my ability to heal quickly.

Anything not something a typical mortal would do, as far as I can tell. So yes.

I had narrowed it down to 3 possibilities
1 - it would essentially turn us into humans/mortals again
2 - it would simply take away our abilities
3 - it would kill us

So it is nice to have some confirmation otherwise.

I don't think it would kill you, thankfully. Though I wouldn't be too alarmed. I have yet to find any natives who can actually see you and the rest, so collaring you isn't really likely.

[Yes, he's narrowed down who this is by now. This isn't one he's actually been able to see yet, but then, they haven't actually interacted, either.]

Since I am not 100% sure if my body is supported entirely by magic or not there's still a small possibility that it could kill me.

I'm fairly sure they're not designed to be lethal. I'm still rather glad that no one is likely to try collaring you, though, just in case.

I am sure the Winds would get really pissed off if anyone tried to force me into one.
So it's definitely good that nobody would try.

Like listening to someone with a strong accent.
But they communicate with different touches and temperatures
And I hear them as hums
Like different sort of musical tones
Except in my head.
So different from a person
Similar to an animal
But still different from that too.

Interesting. So it's more like a sixth sense than an actual conversation?
