This is Commander Shepard of the Normandy SR2.

I need a couple of favors.

I need food and water, I need a sitrep, I need a runner who wouldn't mind spending a few hours on the ship, and-...

[One sec, she's switching to video, and aiming it at what appears to be a moderate-sized triceratops, enclosed in a rather large blue dome (no, not the same kind of dome as the one on the horizon, keep your pants on).]

I need to know what the hell this thing eats. Bonus points if you'll supply it.

[The video turns off, and there's a pause. Does she need anything else? Nothing's coming to mind, so:]

I can pay you in weapons and ammo, or we can figure out something else.

[Another pause--she's done with that. Then, as a brief afternote:]

Kaidan, Liara, are you busy?

Triceratops are herbivores. As I recall, its preferred food were - are - palms, cycads, ferns - tough, low plants.

I ought to be able to do some foraging.

Also, nice triceratops. They're herbivores, that I recall -- feed it like you'd feed a really big cow or a goat or something? Or--- I don't know. Didn't birds descend from dinosaurs?

[She lets out a dry chuckle.] Palms. Cycads. Ferns. The Doctor's one step ahead of you there.

[As for whether or not he's busy:] No rush. I'm on the west end when you're done.

I've got him on board as one of the tech folks too. Man gets around.

[There's a huff of a familiarly Kaidan laugh, enough that she might well be able to visualize the little head-shake that goes with it.]

I'll join you as soon as I can. How's your fuel levels holding out? I can probably scrounge a meal.

Got half a mind to pile them along the barrier. [She's not entirely serious, though. For a real answer:] Assuming we can't eat them? Somewhere in the Wastelands. Maybe that'll draw the rest of the predators out of the city.

I don't know what your kind can eat. Can you send someone who might be able to help sort them out?

I'm assisting with the reconstruction where I can, but I am able to take an assignment, Commander.

Gonna wait and see if I get any more volunteers, but if I don't, I might need you to make a run to the ship.

A couple of allies are MIA, and I'm thinking I know where to look.

When did they go missing? It's possible they are among the injured, and have not had a chance to make contact yet.

[Four years ago, that wouldn't have sounded hopeful. After the geth war, the beginning of the Reaper invasion, and the time between the two...well. She's learned that sometimes 'injured' really is the best that can be hoped for.]

I'll keep my channels open. And Shepard? If you need a hand with your new friend, I can spell you for a little while.
