[Koz can't do much with the storm going on so he's going to make some conversation with the people at large here.]

While I'm aware that english, or at least a variation on it, is the language most used here I'm curious what other ones people know or are more comfortable with at the very least. I'm familiar with quite a few so if there's one you'd prefer speaking in I'm more than willing to oblige.

A language barrier shouldn't be a reason for us to be unable to work together and if anyone wishes to learn a language I'm more than willing to teach.

[There's a pause.]

I'm also wondering if anyone skilled with a sword could use a sparring partner, I seem to be short one.

That's... impressive. I actually had an alien on my squad who was older, but he spent most of that time in cryogenic stasis. Probably doesn't count.

Are you from earth or... what are you? [Not human had been something she'd gleaned from their first meeting, but aliens where she's from generally can't change shape at will.]

It gets tricky translating time when you're used to traveling easily between stars and galaxies.

I'm older but that's as long as I've been awake on the planet and can account for.

[He's actually older than the moon.]

I'm as much a part of that planet as any other creature, but I'm not native to it no. I'm [He says something musical sounding that's somewhere between russian, a falcon's cry and whalesong.] ... it doesn't really translate in to anything short of a paragraph.

Yeah, my translator definitely didn't catch that. [she lets out a short laugh] I've got a friend who would've loved to have met you, though. She's an archaeologist, and has devoted a lot of time studying the past cultures of our galaxy.

Well, there's a chance she'll show up. I'd be happy to tell her about what I know anyway, though from my experience archeologists tend to get a good deal wrong.
