[As per usual, though you can't see Jack will be getting a video of nothing other than the scenery outside of Poseidon, those you can, will see him, of course! Text below follows soon after, even if he does want to say something but this wasn't really for the people who already knew him.]
Probably should have expected all the new faces but I really didn't. New timeline, new faces, gotta keep remembering that. In any case, I'm numero tres on the Spirit That Needs to be Believed In list. I'm Jack Frost.
[A pause in the typing...]
Yes, that Jack Frost. No, my parents weren't being weird or anything. The name I had before I became Jack Frost doesn't have much in common other than my first name. I know I'm not as popular as Tooth or North... er, Santa to you guys. But I really do exist and contrary to what some people say, no I'm not an invisible mutant kid with ice powers. I don't have the X-Gene, nor does it actually occur on my version of Earth. I'm just your common nature spirit that happens to be the one bringing Winter to you guys and working double time lately because of global warming.
But I doubt you want to hear me rant about that. If anything else, I would really appreciate it if you guys put aside your disbelief and actually believe in Tooth, Akito, and I. I know it seems simple, since I am here typing this all out but it's not as simple as you think. You really have to truly believe I'm Jack Frost, I'm the Spirit of Winter who nips at your nose. Tooth is the Tooth Fairy who leaves behind goodies after taking the tooth/teeth you left under your pillow, and Akito is a Wind Spirit, responsible for keeping the winds in check. It really shouldn't be that hard but some of you guys are surprisingly stubborn than most adults.
And adults are unknown territory. Especially for me. I usually deal with kids, after all. Guardian of Fun and responsible for all those awesome snow days that have been existing for a few hundred years now, thank you very much. But seriously, just bear with me. I'm not... used to trying to make adults believe in me. Since you got all that science and logic getting in the way of actually seeing what's, literally, right in front of you.

That's not how science works. Provide evidence, get results. What the hell is a spirit of winter?

Y'know, being referred to by a centuries old name would have been cool if it didn't come with all that baggage. I'm Jack Frost, Jokul Frosti is an old name. [Yes. He's pouting.] Why would I look terrifying?

So do you think that trying to passive-aggressively browbeat people into believing in your version of the world is really going to go over well for you?
For God's sake, if I could just will myself into seeing you I would! Do you think it was thrilling and fun trying to look after two intangible people four hundred years in the past when I couldn't tell whether you were alive or dead unelss you told me?
[text]
I'm not being passive-aggressive nor am I browbeating people. I'm not some... some religion! I'm not asking for faith or worship or anything. I'm just asking for people to believe that I exist.
I'm not the one stopping you from believing that the dude you're talking to right now is actually a nature spirit, YOU ARE. Do you think it's thrilling and fun to be invisible to anyone who isn't a Norse god or a child? Do you think it's fun BEING INVISIBLE for 300 years?
Do you think I actually WANT this? If I could find some other way of you seeing me, I'd do it in a heartbeat. But I can't. And as much as I love being Jack Frost, I didn't ask for this when I became Jack Frost. No one could see me at home, not unless you were already a spirit or were a kid who actually remembered that there was some guy named Jack Frost out there.
And now I'm on some world with mostly adults and I can't help as much as I would like to because I'm dealing with adults with issues in believing in things they did when they were kids. You KNOW I'm here but none of you are willing to believe that I am who I say I am. Some of you have even see PROOF and it's not working.
...what else am I suppose to do? I can't even rely on Manny and he barely spoke to me before.
You really just don't get it, do you? [Her voice has gone almost wistful.]
Belief, real belief doesn't work like that. You can't... will yourself to do it. You can't just flip a switch. Telling me that I'm stopping myself is about as useful as telling an atheist they could believe in a god if they'd just try hard enough. Because yes, you are sounding pretty religious from where I'm sitting.
Jack... why are you so caught up in the 40-something people awake and from the ship? If you need believers, if children make better ones, there are millions of children on this planet. You don't need to be visible to us all to help, and all you're doing is alienating people who can't see you, but don't need to just to appreciate assistance. You're telling us we're not good enough as we are, and you're making it sound like we're just being stubborn. If you're not being passive-aggressive, then you're being, well--
[She stops, and her smile skews dry.]
Well, then you're being kind've a jerk.

I'm guessing that in your time magic is a bit harder to come by, from the way you and Toothiana have phrased it. Or at least harder to see.
I'll do what I can but there will likely always be those who won't be able to change the way they see the world.
Magic... just isn't something people believe in anymore. Not when they have other things to explain things. Science came in and helped humans figure out, for the most part, how the world works. They just don't want to believe that a lot of it can be personified into something like me.
I'm not Jack Frost to them. Just a cold front that comes in when half the world isn't as close to the sun as the other half because of the tilt of the planet.
[And it isn't like they're wrong. For the most part, anyway. It's just that nature is more than just biology and ecosystems and stuff. But Jack didn't really learn things on the scientific scale as he came into his role, so it was hard for him to explain things like that. Hell, he couldn't even really explain it to himself. He just... brought winter. End of story.]
I just don't know how to explain things at their level. I had to learn how to bring Winter on my own, so all I know is... well, what I learned from being out there. Anything else is what I overheard in the kids' classes when I got curious, sometimes. Because I wondered what was making the kids stop... stop believing in magic. A lot of... of mythical beings are just that nowadays. Myth, legend, they're gone.
[He worries he'll be next, even though he's existed for so long without much belief to begin with.]

[Woah. Wait. Hold the phone.]
You weren't told anything?

Sorry. I...don't think you don't exist. I see the words on the screen but I don't really know anything about spirits. Where I'm from, the Force is about the only thing out there that's supernatural. And honestly? It's more natural for me than anything else here.
I guess, for me? I just haven't got a clue where to start believing. Can you...do anything to show me you're not just an AI?

[Well, Jack found someone who can believe in him. He also struck one heckuva nerve.]
[He would correct her that he's actually not that old, but it's semantics at this point. Instead, he looks annoyed.]
Yes, I can hold a book to read. I'm intangible to solid objects. Just people who don't believe in me. And if I managed to get a geneticist to believe in me, I would probably have an easier time convincing the adults in this place I exist and I wouldn't need to make this sort of memo.
[He frowns, brows furrowing.]
What claim are you talking about? What does this have to do with- oh.
You mean the X-Gene? Well, who are you to claim that it does exist on my world? Hell, I don't exist on other Earths, so what's it to you that it doesn't exist on mine? It's not a claim. Unless my world is super late to the party and all the mutants, and I mean every single one, is that good at hiding it, people would have, at the very least, heard of it by now.
I may play around with kids a lot, but they're also the most talkative bunch when the older kids and adults aren't on the internet.
